needs better management
The location is lovely - peaceful and accessible. Management is rarely is evidence and maintenance and housekeeping are poor. Our shower had no nozzle, the shower curtain didn't reach the floor to keep the water in, screens were full of holes. There is no hot water. Garbage was not emptied. Food was mediocre and quantities were inadequate. Staff left their pass key in our door all day while we were away. In a country that produces wonderful coffee, they serve instant. Markets are full of fresh produce but absolutely none was served. We did enjoy the outings to view wildlife. They insisted we be taken to the airport at 11:30 am for a 4:00 pm flight, stating that this was a requirement of the airport which it obviously wasn't. The place is badly overpriced for what they offer.

Amazing location. Nice people. Needed to be told to bring beer/wine as none available there. Meals need some work. Could really have done with reasonable quality coffee. Lovely short walk in the grounds.

Perfect jungle retreat!
The hotel is perfect for a jungle tour in the Amazon basin. The manager Jean-Pierre was helpful and so nice, The dogs there are a real highlight as well. Make sure to ask for Efrain as a guide, he knows everything about the rainforest and makes the tours so enjoyable and informative. We couldn't have had a better time. Real jungle living, not a tourist attraction.
