Nice big room, lovely property, nice owners. Very rural, remote location, gotten to on very narrow roads so coming and going is slow. Owner asks you to pre-order breakfast at a set time, which we did not like doing. But the bed was a real negative. Mattress was quite uncomfortable as you could feel the springs. The closest village was completely closed on Monday when we arrived. We had to drive further to Clonkilty for lunch. Only one place open for dinner in Timoleague.

Just about everything was superb. Way out in the country, cattle running in the field behind us, beautiful setting, gorgeous patio, service and food were top notch. It would be hard to find a fault here.

Our stay at Kilcatten Lodge was very enjoyable. Our hosts Noreen and Joe were super friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotless, bright and airy. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious.
