All rooms have in-ceiling fixtures with flood lamp (2700k) all equipped with dimmer switches for your ambiance preferences.
SKIERS take NOTE: Only 10 minutes to the nearest Coastal Mountain skiing at Grouse Mountain; 15 minutes to Cypress Bowl ski mountain; 30 minutes to Mount Seymour ski lifts. Only 1 Hour and 31 minutes to Whistler / Blackcomb Ski mountains.
You are only 12 minutes to Vancouver City Centre by car, 30 minutes by bus and Seabus to Vancouver city centre. Locally you are only 5 minutes to shopping at Park Royal or Capilano Mall. Excellent furnishings in this one bedroom private entrance suite. Cleaning is very detailed by an on-staff cleaner (20 year tenure). We are12 steps down to that level (banisters on both sides). The suite has 4 windows which open fully for clean fresh air. The suite is not part of the central air heating as with the rest of the house, (not sharing air); the suite's heating is electric baseboards in every room. It has a fully equipped kitchen. There is a full-sized washer and dryer laundry room in the suite; a large dining area; a livingroom area equipped with big screen TV and Telus cable; a workstation area with free WiFi. The bedroom is equipped with a new Queen sized tempur-pedic mattress and combed cotton high thread count sheets with fluffy shams, duvet and pillows. A warm spacious cozy retreat.

We spent 3 nights at Howie’s Retreat. He is a marvellous host. Warm, welcoming and personable. The unit itself is spacious, comfortable and clean. There is not a single thing that Howie has not provided for your comfort. If it isn’t there, you don’t need it. If anything isn’t right, he will go out of his way to fix it in a timely manner. Nothing is too much trouble. The decor is lovely too. A real home away from home. A perfect little nest for when you are not out exploring the area. Great place, great guy!

Perfect place to recharge and relax!
Staying a Howie's place was a pleasure he's a superb host and I'm sad I didn't get to spend more time chatting with him! We definitely be coming back again! The basement apartment is beautifully decorated with original artworks and has a plethora of useful and thoughtful amenities. You can really tell Howie cares for his guests in a proactive and caring way. One exceptional example of this was the small library of books which was greatly appreciated. The apartment is really close to the main road which I thought might be an issue but you cannot hear it at all and proved to be really convenient for travelling around all of Vancouver. It's a super easy drive to downtown but feels much safer and relaxed. It's also only a few dollar's taxi ride to the seabus to downtown so if you're visiting Van and want to see the sights this is a really great option. Overall excellent experiences highly recommend!

Perfect Start to our Vancouver Life
We stayed in Howie's lovely flat for our first stay upon moving to Vancouver. We loved it and couldn't recommend enough. We loved it so much we we ended up staying for longer than planned! Howie & family are super friendly, the flat was perfectly kitted out including a ready to go kitchen and a desk set up - with one of us working remotely from the flat, that was ideal and the wifi was super quick! Safeway's opposite makes it super easy to pick up supplies and great access to the highway to get anywhere in Vancouver or even straight up to Whistler. Would highly recommend for anyone looking!

My partner and I stayed here for a few days while visiting family in N. Vancouver, going to Lynn Canyon and driving to Whistler for a day - so great location for that, right off the freeway, but beautifully wooded property, quiet dead end street. Owner had me park next to his, easy for loading unloading. Fully furnished with top everything. One flight of stairs down but not a problem for us. Would highly recommend

We visited this property in August so the proximity to ski hills was not the attracting factor. However, being in North Vancouver near the Shipping yards for ferry to downtown as well as on bus routes to nearby Stanley Park, Capilano bridge was a huge bonus. The suite was well stocked with every item a guest could possible need and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful.
