Lovely place but be aware when bringing a dog
If was asked to review this stay when we checked out, i’d have given it a 5 stars. Helpful and friendly staff and lots of communication prior to stay. Room was lovely and cosy and it was so nice they gave the dog a little bed/water bowl to use. I’d even called the front desk to say thank you for leaving a bed as that was a lovely touch.
However about 2 hours after we checked out the next day, I then had a phone call to say we needed to pay another £25 for the dog.
There was no mention of additional dog fees on hotels.com and I had also contacted the hotel prior to make sure we could bring the dog and whether we needed to make this a special request when booking. We were told we can bring the dog at no cost and the whole place was dog friendly so they could stay in any room available.
This phone call demanding money was really unexpected and has tarnished our view of the hotel, hence dropping the stars.
Personally I don’t understand how they can warrant charging this regardless as there was nothing extra they needed to do just because a dog stayed, it’s a pretty steep extra charge and was very disappointing they waited until after we had left to then land an extra unexpected charge on us.
