The cabinets in the kitchen were disgusting. Some were even stuck closed. The dishwasher was rusted badly on the outside, the inside frames were very difficult to roll in or out, there was always water left in the bottom and the dishes did not come clean. There were ants in the kitchen and main bathroom. They sent someone to spray once but the ants returned 3 days later. We ran out of hot water twice when only 1 person was showering, and no other water being used. The curtains had stains.

We had a newly renovated room that was very nice, but the air conditioning was very loud. The one negative was when we checked in they pressured you to come to a timeshare meeting. We were not interested.

Outside pool closed
This was our third time staying at the resort and possibly our last. The main reason we go is for the heated outdoor pool. The pool was closed and we were told four different stories on why it was closed. The indoor pool is large and nice but one of the days there were 20 guests in the pool, making it virtually unusable. Otherwise, it is a nice resort and the staff were friendly.

Kingsgate is always well maintained. The recreation facilities are family-friendly. The pool was clean and warm. The only thing that could be better is if there were towels poolside instead of having to get them from the front desk. I've stayed here 3 or 4 times and always forget until I've lowered my fat butt into the water. And you aren't supposed to walk in the lobby in a wet suit (understandable), so I just sit and drip in a pool chair a while longer.
