Below are the answers to questions frequently asked about Reservations and Credit Cards on Travelocity.ca. We hope you will find the answer to your question. General Reservation Questions:
1. Can I use travel vouchers, certificates or frequent flyer miles to purchase through Travelocity.ca?

Air Reservation Questions:
1. I saw a lower airfare advertised today. Why can't I get that airfare using Travelocity.ca?
2. I searched the "Fares" section of Travelocity.ca to find the lowest fare. Why don't I receive the same fare when I search the "Reserve a Flight" section?
3. I know there's a flight on my favorite airline at a certain time of the day. Why can't I find it in Travelocity.ca?
4. When I search for the lowest priced flight, I get a lower price by specifying an airline than when I search through all airlines. Why is that?
5. I do not know the airport code for my departure or arrival cities. Can I enter the name of the city instead of the airport code?
6. Do I have to enter my frequent-flyer number, seating preference and other service requests with each reservation?
7. Do you offer Senior, Infant and Companion fares?
Car Reservation Questions:
1. There is no confirmation number for my car rental. What should I do?
2. My family will be traveling next month and our travel plans include renting a car. Can we reserve a mini-van through Travelocity.ca?
3. My company has a corporate discount with a specific car rental company. May I still make a reservation through Travelocity.ca?
4. I am a frequent renter with a particular car rental company. Do I receive a discount?
Hotel Reservation Questions:
1. I've made a hotel reservation but no confirmation number appears in my itinerary. What should I do?

Credit Card Security Questions:
1. Is my credit card information secure?
2. If I store a credit card number in my profile, will charges be automatically billed to my card?
3. I still don't feel comfortable transmitting my credit card information on the Internet. Are there alternatives for providing my credit card data to Travelocity.ca?
4. Why did I receive a "Credit card error" page when making my reservation?
 
General Reservation Answers:
1. No. Airlines generally require that ticket purchases using either frequent flier miles or travel vouchers be handled directly at one of their locations. The same is true of vouchers issued by a variety of travel clubs. You will need to contact them directly to purchase your ticket.
2. To complete a reservation for someone else, simply type in his or her name instead of yours for the passenger/traveler name. Your profile information (e.g. name, address, phone number, etc.) will be used as a default. However, you may type over the appropriate fields and replace them with the actual traveler's information.
3. We'll send you a confirmation e-mail immediately after you complete your reservation. This e-mail will include your itinerary details and ticket price. You may also confirm your reservation online by accessing "Your Reservations" from the main page of Travelocity.ca. Your Reservations may be found in the Booking Tools drop-down menu under the area Travel Tools located on the left-hand side of the screen.
4. To make changes to your existing reservation, click on the "My Trips" link provided at the top of the home page just under the Travelocity.ca logo. You may be asked to login if you have not already done so. On the following page, select "Check Current Reservation." Select the reservation that you want to change from the displayed list and make your desired changes. You can add to, replace, or delete from a flight, car, or hotel reservation. Please note, however, that if tickets have already been issued, you will not be able to make changes online. Please contact our Customer Service Center for assistance.
5. To cancel a reservation, click on the "My Trips" link provided at the top of the home page just under the Travelocity.ca logo. You may be asked to login if you have not already done so. On the following page, select "Reservations." Select the reservation that you want to cancel from the displayed list and click on "Cancel Reservation." Your entire reservation will be canceled, including any car, hotel, and air segments. If tickets have already been issued, you must call our Customer Service Center for assistance, as ticketed reservations cannot be canceled online.
6. To access your reservation, click on the "My Trips" link provided at the top of the home page just under the Travelocity.ca logo. You may be asked to login if you have not already done so. On the following page, select "Reservations."
Air Reservation Answers
1. This may occur for several reasons. Airlines generally restrict the number of seats that may be sold at a discounted fare. Those seats may have already sold out by the time you accessed the system. Also, most discounted fares carry certain travel restrictions such as minimum/maximum stay requirements, advance purchase, blackout dates, etc. Travelocity.ca takes these restrictions into account when pricing your itinerary. The advertisement should outline these restrictions.
2. The "Fare Listing" section provides you a list of all fares offered between two cities. Just because a fare is shown on this list does not necessarily mean it is available on the flights or dates you most prefer. Most discount fares have significant restrictions on the days, and possibly the time, you may travel. In addition, discount fares are offered on a limited basis on each flight. The fare you're looking for may be sold out on the flight you've chosen or the fare rules may not apply to your travel day/time.
3. In most cases, this means the flight you are looking for is sold out. We only show flights that have seats available for your travel dates. Make sure that you select the "search by schedule" fare option on the "Flight and Fare options" page.
4. Travelocity.ca searches for the least expensive flight closest to your request departure time. When you request to search for all flights from all airlines, Travelocity.ca searches through a smaller selection of flights from each airline for a shorter span of time. If you specify only one airline, Travelocity.ca will look at a broader range of flights throughout the day for one carrier. Because flights at different times of the day may be more or less expensive, a lower priced flight may turn up when you do a search on one airline. We suggest that when you do a search for the best priced flights, try searching with a few different departure times throughout the day. You may find better prices that way.
5. Yes, Travelocity.ca lets you enter the city name instead of the 3-letter airport code. For your convenience we have a list of the major airport codes.
6. No, you can store this information in your personal profile. Click on the "My Trips" link provided at the top of the home page just under the Travelocity.ca logo. You may be asked to login if you have not already done so. One the following page, select "Add/Edit Travel Profiles."
7. Senior (age 62+) fare discounts are provided if offererd by the airline. At this time we do not offer infant or companion discounts. Adding these discounts as a product enhancement is in our future plans.
Car Reservation answers
1. Car rental companies may take up to 24 hours to respond with a confirmation. If more than 24 hours have elapsed, please let us know. We will help you obtain the confirmation number.
2. Yes. Travelocity.ca now allows you to reserve a mini-van or 4-wheel drive vehicle. After selecting "Cars" from the Travelocity.ca homepage, select "Mini and Standard Van" or "Four Wheel Drive" as the type of car you want to rent.
3. Yes. Please be sure to select your preferred car rental company and the Corporate Rate category on the "Rent a Car" page. After you submit your initial information, Travelocity.ca will ask you for your Corporate Discount number.
4. Car rental companies usually offer discounts to their frequent renters. Please be sure to store your frequent renter number in your profile so that it can be transmitted to the car rental company when you make a reservation.
Hotel Reservation answers
1. Hotel companies can take up to 24 hours to respond with a confirmation. If more than 24 hours have elapsed, please let us know. We will help you obtain the confirmation number.
2. Specific hotel information such as property address and phone number, amenities, transportation to/from the airport, and other details is available online. This information may be accessed by clicking on the hotel icon on the Select a Hotel screen.
3. It is important that you review the hotel policy carefully. If your plans change and you do not cancel your reservation within the allotted cancellation period, the hotel will charge your credit card a penalty fee. Click on the policy hyperlink on the "Select a Room" page to view details on the hotel's cancellation policy.
4. You may enter one or more pieces of information about the area where you need a hotel room. We need at least a city name or zip/postal code. We will then find the center point of that area and return hotels ordered by distance from that center point.

If your entry is ambiguous, for example, you entered Portland in the city field (and no state or zip code) we will return a map plotting all the Portlands and a list with more information. You may then make a selection from the list and continue to the hotel listing.

At this time, this option is applicable only to places within the United States and Canada. International searches must be done through the "Search for hotels by an airport" option.

5. You must enter at least a state, and it is very helpful to enter all or part of the point of interest that you would like to stay near. If you're uncertain about the exact name or spelling of your point of interest, enter as much as you know (even if it's only the first letter) and we will return to you a list of similar points of interest. You may then make a selection from the list and continue to the hotel listing, where the hotels will be returned ordered by distance from that  point of interest.

At this time, this option is applicable only to places within the United States. International searches must be done through the "Search for hotels by an airport" option.

6. To search on multiple hotel chains, find your first choice in the list and click on it, then locate your next choice, and while holding down the "ctrl" key on your keyboard, click on your next selection. You may continue selecting properties while holding down the "ctrl" key, however, we recommend you only select a total of 3-5 chains. If you leave the default of "No Preference", all chains will be included in your search.
Credit Card Security
1. We make every effort to keep all your personal information, including your credit card number, secure. We only allow your credit card number to be transmitted to us over the Internet if your browser supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. As you enter your credit card number, SSL encodes it so it is transmitted in a format that prevents eavesdropping or data theft. Once received by our secure server, your credit card number is never transmitted over the Internet again.
2. No. We won't charge anything to your credit card until you make a purchase using your credit card.
3. Yes. We'd be happy to enter your credit card number directly into your profile for you. Contact our Customer Care Department by calling, toll-free, 877.282.2925. Customers outside the United States or Canada may call 613.780.1431. If you prefer, you may fax your credit card information to us at 613.780.1378. Please include your Login ID or Name, credit card type, credit card number and credit card expiration date. Also, please provide a daytime phone number (in case we need to contact you).
4. When you present your credit card for payment on Travelocity.ca, we link to your credit card company to receive authorization for your purchase. If your credit card company has questions about your account, we help you complete your reservation and instruct you on the steps to take to make your purchase and have your tickets issued.
