We chose a basic room in the original (1930s) building, so I cannot speak to the condition or characteristics of the rooms in the newer wing. All was spotlessly clean. The room is quite small and in need of a few small improvements, which I hope they’ll do: an accessible outlet or two (a power strip or lamp base-type—I’m not expecting rewiring!), a nightstand or at least wall-mounted shelf for both sides of the bed, a warmer blanket.
The lobby, courtyard, and restaurant area are charming and comfortable.
We met and dealt with several different front desk staff during our stay (plus a housekeeper), and everyone was friendly, kind, helpful and competent. What a pleasure.
You’ll be happy to be right in Black Mountain, able to walk to cafes, shops, music venues.
