My room was assigned junior suite, but that room has 3 different steep stairs between room and restroom. We asked to change the room and they did. I would recommend when you check in if you don't want any room has stairs.

Hotel Santa Maria Novella is a wonderful hotel! It has old world charm and takes exceptional care of its guests. The rooms are spacious for Europe and are beautifully appointed. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is perfect as it provides so many choices in a delightful setting. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

The staff at this Hotel were excellent actually the best ive come across in a long time. Nothing is too much trouble and I did not find one fault with the Hotel and staff 10 out of 10 from me. The hotel is in walking distance from a lot of sights and very close to the train station. Definitely highly recommend this Hotel and will be back again .

Our room was on the 5th floor. Steps leading to only bedroom were very unsafe. No lighting, very low rope for handrails, slippery wooden floors. Only bathroom was downstairs making late night trips very dangerous. We asked for a room change and the next room was also unsafe. I made reservations elsewhere and le ft this hotel.
