Hotel Amira far exceeded our expectations. Staff was over the top superb! Manager was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. This is a perfect location to the historic section of Turkey, very safe and walkable. The roof top bar was a lot of fun, great views and great food. Or bartender played the guitar the second night and he was fabulous. All our connecting rides arranged through the hotel were seamless and prompt. My husband who is a diabetic lost his insulin on the flight over. The manager was on the phone and was able to direct us immediately to a pharmacy with the exact medicine we needed. Could not ask for better service. Would rate this as a 10 if possible!

Not only is this hotel a great gem, it is close to many fine restaurants, it is located walking distance to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaa. Wow. I was impressed and i travel 2 weeks each month to foreign countries. The entire staff from the front desk, the dining, and housekeeping were excellent! Thank you.

Hotel Amira was great. Our room was comfy and spacious and the staff was so friendly and helpful! They helped us schedule a hammam, transport to and from the airport, taxis around the city (taxis will ask for more money sometimes because you aren’t local), moving luggage, etc. the breakfast was delicious. It’s off the main drag of all the chaos near the mosques, but not too far of a quick walk. We would absolutely stay here again!

Amira is a great hotel if you plan to visit the European side of Istanbul and want things in a walking range. We traveled with an 1yo (early walker) and the location was perfect. We were able to take breaks and visit the sights in walking distance. The property is immaculately clean and the staff puts in the effort to keep it that way. They were helpful in helping plan out excursions and had helpful tips for travelers. They even suggested great locations to get handicrafts, meals and souvenirs. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with local delights --- honey on the comb, olives, the special breads, walnuts, etc. The eating area was super clean all the time and staff put extra effort to make us feel welcome. I wish we could stay longer to enjoy more. We will definitely be back to explore and enjoy more

The photos on Hotels.com are a bit misleading as the room looks outdated in person. The heater doesn't work in winter time. The receptionist explained the air con in the room is linked to the whole building and other guests prefer air con instead of heater. And it is 8 degree in winter. Wall heater is not efficient and not warm. I ended up having a cold night. It's weird that our own comfort is dependent on other people. And it doesn't make sense to have air con in winter time either. The hotel, however, is willing to cancel my second night with full refund, which I really appreciate. The room doesn't have good insulation as I was disturbed by all noises made from other rooms- someone dragged the chair level above, someone dropped something on the floor, toilet flushes,etc. The taxis in front of the hotel refused to use the meter and they charged fixed rate, which is more expensive. Though the hotel is within walking distance, there are other better options. I think the hotel is more 3 stars in stead of 4.
