This is a truly one-of-a-kind property in Tahoe: it's five minutes away from the Alpine Meadows resort, but it feels like it's all alone in the woods. A pilot built the home in the 1960s, and we try to honor this history while updating the home with all the modern conveniences. Fast wifi, smart keyless lock, and updated kitchen and bathrooms are just the start of the improvements we've made to the property. Our updates and uses of technology blend seamlessly with the cabin's overall aesthetic.
This cabin features a one-car garage, with room for two or three more cars in the driveway. From the garage, you walk to the door under a covered porch before entering the Sparklebridge, which connects the garage to the main house. This means there's no shoveling in the winter! The bridge ends in a small entryway for leaving your shoes and outerwear before walking into the kitchen and dining area. We find it so convenient to walk into the kitchen and drop our bags after the drive to the cabin.
The kitchen features an induction cooktop, perfect for life in the mountains. It's fast and safe, with a conduction oven and five burners. An LG fridge and kitchen island round out this space. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware, gadgets, and utensils, and we keep plenty of pantry essentials on hand for all your cooking needs. The kitchen connects to the living room, with a wood stove and built-in seating on the far wall. When you open the windows in the living room, you can hear Bear Creek running outside. It's my favorite spot for settling in with a good book!
The master suite, The Canopy, is also on the main floor, with a queen bed, workspace, and bath with a stall shower and Toto bidet toilet. The workspace has a 27" 4K monitor on a swingarm, mouse and keyboard, and a monochrome laser printer.
Moving downstairs, you'll find the laundry area with LG washer and dryer, as well as two more bedrooms and a bathroom.
The larger bedroom, The Understory, is perfect for families, with a king bed, two twin beds, and a 55" Samsung Frame television.
The smaller bedroom, The Forest Floor, has a queen bed and is ideal for couples.
The downstairs bath has a stall shower and a Toto bidet toilet.
You'll find high-quality LED lighting on dimmer switches, excellent wifi, and luxe furnishings everywhere in the home. We've worked with artists to create genuinely unique artworks for the property, and we continue to make incremental improvements throughout the space.
