Manager is amazing!!! Indeed heâs undoubtedly the best thing about the hotel and it was lovely to meet him. He worked tirelessly to ensure everyone had everything they needed from reception to bar to maintenance! Great sense of humor, a real asset! However the hotel itself is in dire need of updating!
The food was good and the atmosphere lovely. But the shower was very frugal with the water, the bathroom tiny and the room compact. It just needs a bit of tlc and money spent on it to turn it into a true gem.
Dated decor. No plug for sink! No radiator control as TRV broken off some time ago as the dust shows. So the room was cold as the stop valve was screwed shut. TV doesnât work. No water pressure to shower though sink was fine at taps. Poor quality mattress.
Amazing location, unbeatable loch views. Onky downside we had was promised breakfast in bar so we could have dog with us, this wasnt set up. When i approaches staff they said they would get this sorted asap but forgot about us. We ended up putting dog in car and having breakfast in main dinning room, but by this point bread, juice and cereal was limited. Felt this put a but of a dampner on the stay. Perhaps two servers on at breakfast woukd have been helpful.
My friend and I stayed at Loch Maree Hotel for a night before we went over to the Isle of Skye and our experience was amazing! Duncan was so sweet and funny and made the stay memorable. The views of the lake are beautiful and everyone else staying at the hotel were friendly and loved to chat. The food was delicious, we had dinner and breakfast - both great. I wish we could have stayed longer! Next time I'll have to bring a boat that's not filled with water to explore the lake.
Great location and very beautiful Loch Maree view from the rooms. Comfortable and cozy hotel with interesting heritage. Very hospitable and friendly staff. Duncan is a great host and makes one feel right at home. Highly recommend.
