Overall, my stay at Sleepy Hollow Cabins and Hotel was okay. The staff were friendly, check-in and check-out were smooth, and parking was convenient. The location is greatâLake Gregory is within walking distance, and itâs close to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear.
My main issue was that the room didnât match the online photos. The pictures showed a cozy, country-style unit with a bedroom, kitchen, and living area for about $160 a night, but the actual room was very different. The âfully equipped kitchenâ wasnât functionalâwhile the fridge and microwave worked, there was no usable stove, no proper utensils, and the drawers werenât clean. I had planned to cook but couldnât, which was disappointing.
Other concerns: the air conditioner was noisy and emitted a gas smell; the bathroom had good water pressure but the toilet was uncomfortably small; the sofa looked dirty so I had to cover it with sheets; the room smelled old; the TV barely worked; and the window view was trash binsâwith even a fly inside the cabin.
I didnât complain since no other rooms were available and chose to enjoy the lakes instead, but it was frustrating that the advertising felt misleading. The staff did their part well, but management should update photos and descriptions so guests know what to expect. For the price, I expected the room shown online.
Overall: staff, check-in/out, and parking were fine; location excellent. But the room and amenities need honesty in advertising.
