We used to stay here quite frequently. We have progressively watched the property go downhill and I can honestly say that will be our last visit. The pool area was not tidy or clean. Hot tub green tinge and slimy feeling inside. Floors in the pool deck not clean with large puddles everywhere. No pool towels or extra room towels available at the front desk. No shampoo in the room but you get 3 bottles of conditioner. Bathroom floor with dirt on it. Hallways smell and just a dirty grungy feeling throughout. Used to be such a nice hotel. Now going to shambles.

This is the place to stay

We had booked this room because of a terrible experience we had with the Stone Gate in orillia. The front desk people were so friendly Carrie and Josh. from the moment you walked in the doors you felt welcome. We booked in on the 7th Feb 2025, which was a huge snow storm. The highway was closed down because of a 50 car pile up. Around dinner the parking lot started filling up with people who had been stranded on the highway all day. Because of the weather there were some staff that could not make it in, so they were short handed. there was one server-bartender and one cook. Our server slash bartender ( Michelle) was amazing. She kept everyone up beat and had a smile on her face the whole time. There was a bit of a wait for food, but it did come out in a timely manner considering the droves of people coming through the doors. The lobby was packed and Josh and Carrie handled it very professionally. Everyone was nice including the guests. The staff were so kind it kept everyone calm and relaxed. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE STAFF at the Quality Inn On Woodside Dr. Orillia

Amazing staff service! Room was very clean. Facilities (pool, hallways) were a little outdated but the rooms were not! the restaurant beside was good food! Would definitely come back! Loved that the hot tub and pool were very warm.

The room was not clean and up to standard. Cone webs and dirty toilet seats. Did not look like a vacuum or mop had been used. Breakfast food was cold and greasy. Very disappointing stay and will not be back

It is an old 2-star hotel, run in an ultra-thrifty manner. We checked into our hotel room to find there was no heat on, and it was literally at freezing temperature. Luckily we could put the heat on and return 6 hours later. The beds have minimal bedding, suited for summer time, and there is no extra bedding. The breakfast is very low quality and we left for Starbucks to get a decent coffee. Sad place.

It was good but the room was veeeeery cold, the thermostat read 50F when I got there and even with the fireplace cranked it didn’t get any warmer then 62, seems to be quite the draft at the window and fireplace but besides that great stay

The rooms were very dated , not sound proof at all. There were stains all over the couches. All the side tables and coffee table were literally hanging on by screws. Falling apart. The pool was not working and there was. Girls hockey team there. Parents drinking in the hall and kids having chair races screaming down the hall. I’m all for kids having fun but there was zero sound proofing in the walls.

TLDR: The hot tub and sauna are closed for maintenance or out of order. The pool area is frigid, the change rooms are unheated. The check-in process was easy. My room was ready right way. The hotel is outdated. The hallways smell of cigarettes. My room was clean-ish. The toilet paper holder wasn't attached to the wall, and fell off the first time it was used. The beds are not comfortable. There was only three stations on the television. The pool area is large but freezing. There was huge ice blocks built up on the windows. The hot tub was closed for maintenance. The sauna was out of order and the change rooms are unheated. It was too cold to stay for long. We checked out less than two hours after arriving
