Step into a piece of history with this beautifully preserved 1686 home, where timeless elegance meets contemporary convenience. The inviting first floor features a cozy living room, equipped with a Smart TV and plenty of games perfect for relaxing evenings.The large dining room seats 8 making it ideal for everyone to gather for meals.

While you’ll be steps away from plenty of dining options on Cabot Street, the updated kitchen is the perfect place to prepare meals at home. Enjoy new appliances and all the essentials you’ll need for a home cooked meal. You’ll also find a full bathroom with shower/tub and a private office on this floor making it the perfect remote workspace.

Make your way up the winding stairs to discover three generously sized bedrooms, designed to accommodate up to five guests. Two spacious bedrooms are at the top of the stairs, one with a queen and one with a full bed. Each has ample space to get ready and unpack with closets and dressers. The third, smaller bedroom offers a cozy twin day bed. This floor also features a full shower/tub bathroom and sitting area stocked with additional games, puzzles, and desk for an additional workspace!

Continuing up to the third floor you’ll find two additional bedrooms: a large king bedroom and a cozy twin bedroom. The newly renovated full bathroom on this floor keeps the character of the house in mind with a luxurious clawfoot tub and shower available. This floor also has another comfortable sitting area, where you can curl up with a good book.

Part of what makes this 1686 home so special is also worth knowing before you book: original wide-plank floors, a winding staircase to the second floor, and low ceilings in a few spots — all character straight from the home's colonial roots. Because of this, the home isn't a good fit for guests with limited mobility, as there are uneven floors and steep stairs throughout, with no elevator or single-level access. We want every guest to feel comfortable and safe, so please reach out before booking if you have any questions about navigating the space

Living History

My family and I enjoyed our stay! We really enjoyed our time in this cozy home and its historical roots that go back to 1686. From this “base camp” we visited nearby Salem and Boston. This trip will live on in our memories for years to come. Thanks for sharing your home!

Fascinating!

We loved staying in this historic house — a rare treat! Our whole group, and the family who visited us, were so intrigued by the beamed ceilings, the wide floorboards, and the fireplaces. The location is excellent, very convenient for restaurants and site-seeing in Salem and surrounding towns. Our host was very responsive and super pleasant. I’d stay there again! It was an adventure.

The Historic Hazadiah Smith House

What a house! We loved our stay in this 1686 historic home. It is well maintained, clean, close to beaches and walking distance to downtown. The house has amazing antique furniture that adds to the charming feel of the home and can only be appreciated by up close inspection. Every room is warmly decorated with beautiful period pieces. It was perfect for us as we had three adults and three children ranging in ages from 3-15 years old.

Great Setup for Family

This accomdatiom had room styles that suit the whole family. With a baby gate we were able the keep our 17 month old in the little bedroom across from the master bedroom on the top floor which was also fully carpeted helping with little kid tumbles. The other rooms were perfect for my 9 and 14 year old. Excellent quiet property with neat historic value..

Wonderful historic home

Beverly is a real gem of a town. The house sits on one of the main drags so do be aware that some bedrooms will face the street. It didn't bother us and it was a pleasure to be in this architectural treasure with walking distance to town. 7 of us stayed here and it was very spacious. The stairs are no joke! It's all part of the age and history of this home but do be advised. The hosts were wonderful and communicative. W'ed come back!

Great place to stay

My family stayed in this house for the week of October 22- the 25th. The house was just as it was pictured. The location was great as it was close to Salem. We did not have any problem checking in or out. It was very smooth. The guidebook Rachel said to download was very helpful. The house was full of antique furniture and was dated to the time period that it was built in. It was great to be able to stay in a house that was built back in the 1600's. We would stay here again and would recommend it to friends. Rachel was very friendly and easy to deal with.

Our family was in town for a college graduation. The property was in a great location, close to the Beverly train station, shops, and restaurants. The home was clean and included the amenities our family needed for our stay. Our host, Rachel, was available for any questions we had along the way. Communications provided on check-in, details about the home, near by dining and attractions, check-out, etc were well done and very helpful. Overall, this was a neat experience to stay in a home built in the 1680’s. Lots of character throughout.
