Welcome to our condo at Mountain Thunder Lodge!

There are many features and amenities that make this two-bedroom home the perfect place to spend your vacation. Mountain Thunder is a premier destination with an ideal location, and in addition to the many benefits of staying here, guests enjoy free access to the facilities of One Ski Hill Place resort at the base of Peak 8.

The Condominium

With 1,142 square feet of living space, our newly-remodeled condo is one of the largest two-bedroom units in the lodge. Facing south, it is bright and airy with a view of the Rocky Mountains from all of the rooms and from the balcony. To make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible, we use a local property management company to assist with all aspects of your stay in Breckenridge.

The condominium features elegant mountain furnishings with rich fabrics and warm colors, with a moss rock fireplace in the living area, plus a private balcony. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped. There are 2 televisions, including a 42-inch LG high definition LCD, and a washer and dryer in the unit. Free wireless internet access is available throughout the Mountain Thunder complex.

The master suite offers a king sized bed and large adjoining bathroom with granite tiles, two sinks, and a walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a twin XL bunk bed and an twin XL bed, with the second bathroom just across the hall, and there is a comfortable pull out sleeper sofa in the living room. The dining table seats six, or you can sit at the breakfast bar for a quick snack.

Mountain Thunder Lodge

Mountain Thunder Lodge is beautifully decorated with an elegant but rustic feel. The main floor grand lobby is a sitting area that features log accents, slate floors, plush furniture, a fireplace, and free Starbucks coffee in the morning. From the distinctive design, to the first-rate amenities, to the handsome guest suites, every feature says quality. Mountain Thunder Lodge is a private retreat right in the heart of Breckenridge. But don’t just take our word for it. Mountain Thunder has consistently been rated one of the top properties in Breckenridge by the leading travel advisor website, and the Lodge has been the recipient of numerous awards, including Orbitz Best In Stay and Expedia Insiders Select.

Mountain Thunder Lodge is a secluded, yet centrally-located luxury ski in/gondola out property. Start your ski day with a short walk to the gondola (200 yds.) that takes you to Peak 8, and ski back to your door at the end of the day or for lunch on Four O'clock run and the Gondola Ski Back. Then take a swim in the scenic year-round heated outdoor pool, or soak in one of several hot tubs. If you’ve still got the energy, work out in the state-of-the-art on-site fitness center. Playgrounds, picnic areas, and grills are available to summer visitors.

Once you get to Mountain Thunder, you don’t need a car. Walk to Main Street just one block away, where you will find shopping, restaurants, galleries, museums, ski/board/bike rentals, and many other services and unique shops. A complimentary on-call shuttle service is there when you need it to take you anywhere else in Breckenridge.

One Ski Hill Place

A bonus feature of Mountain Thunder Lodge is that guests have access free of charge to the facilities at luxurious One Ski Hill Place, a Rock Resort, located on the ski slopes at Peak 8. The Aquatics Center has two indoor swimming pools with panoramic windows looking directly onto the slopes. The kids’ pool has fun water features and a gradually sloped “beach entry” for the little ones. Well-appointed locker rooms, another fitness facility, a steam room, and a sauna are also there for your use.

The resort also includes a two-lane bowling alley, a billiard room, and two “media rooms” complete with plush chairs, surround sound, and 60-inch HD movie screens. (No charge, but reservations required.) A full bar menu is delivered by the wait staff, and DVDs and video games are available from the reception desk.

Our family of 5 (3 teens) spent 10 days in this condo and had a great experience. The condo was immaculate when we arrived. The beds were comfortable and the bunks were high enough nobody hit their heads. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and silverware for cooking meals. The location was fabulous! We could easily walk into town, to the gondola and the friendly shuttle drivers took us anywhere else we needed to go. The hot tub was clean and hot. We enjoyed the amenities at One Ski Hill as well. The property management was very responsive and quick to help us when we asked. We’d definitely recommend this vacation home and hope to stay here again in the future.

We had a great stay. Good communication with the host, clean and comfy accommodations. We made use of the hot tub after our ski days and loved the proximity to town. The only downside was a lack of snow, so the lower 4 o’clock was closed (meaning we had to walk back from the gondola more than we planned). Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Mountain Thunder Lodge during July 4 weekend. It was super convenient. We could walk everywhere. Nice and close to the Gondola, Main St, lots of activities and events to explore. Super clean and easy check-in and check-out process. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Perfect summer family vacation

Escaped the Midwest heat wave for a few days in the mountains. This condo was absolutely perfect for us and our 3 kids. Perfect location immediately adjacent to the Breckconnect gondola for upper mountain fun and mere steps from the Main Street with all the shops and restaurants. It was exceedingly convenient. Check in and check out was so so easy. The condo was very clean and comfortable (no A/C but it usually got cool enough at night that even this coddled midwesterner didn’t mind). We parked our car in the underground garage and didn’t touch it for 4 days. We loved everything about our stay and would gladly visit again! Highly recommend!

Spring Ski Trip

The condo was perfect for our stay. It was very clean and stocked for our needs. The walk to the gondola in the morning was a good warmup for a day of skiing. Skiing home to the door step was so convenient followed by some time in the hot tub. We liked being walking distance to town for dinner and drinks. We did not use our vehicle much but the underground parking was easy and comfortable.

Perfect stay

This condo was more than perfect!!!! The space, location and the host were absolutely perfect. My husband, kids and friend were able to walk to the gondola and jump right off at Peak 8(main base) to get their day started in 30mins. They literally skied right back to the side of the parking garage(closer than Four O’clock run) and walked into the lobby to drop skis off. Absolutely the most convenient skiing trip ever. I walked all over town back and forth shopping and site seeing during my stay. We walked to town for dinners and also made dinner in the fully equipped kitchen. Truly felt at home staying here for 4 days. Hot tubs and pool was never over crowded and enjoyed hanging out there. Definitely call the day before if you are wanting to go bowling as they book up to reserve a time slot. Can’t say enough great things about this stay and the host
out of 4years coming to CO this trip was very laid back and so low key on how convenient this place made the trip. You will not regret booking this condo, I know we will book this 100% again!!

We had a wonderful experience. Short walk to gondola and ski right into the resort. The place was great and we really appreciated the giant framed trail map helped us plan out our skiing for the day. Perfect location for the town so close to shops and restaurants.

Breckenridge family stay

We loved the property, great amount of space for us with our two daughters aged 11 and 14. The property was clean, the property managers were responsive and the location is awesome to the Breck Gondola and town. Only catch is you cannot store luggage onsite prior to check in, so if you get to the property early on your check in day you can get stuck if you don’t have transport (you can store luggage at the office down the road for a small fee). We didn't fancy dragging it all through the snow though.

Fantastic place

This condo had everything you could need for a fantastic vacation. The location was convenient, the place was spacious and had all the little things you need and hate to buy for a short trip (such as coffee filters, dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, etc.). The ski lockers and hot tub were bonuses. We didn’t need anything while we were there, but the communication was great and I assume had something come up, they would have been right on it. We would definitely stay here again.

Best home base location in Breckenridge

This location added at least an hour of ski time and significantly reduced fatigue. The efficiency of the heated garage and elevator to rooms can’t be overstated. That combined with the almost next door proximity to Gondola set a new bar for our ski vacations. We simply felt we had a couple more hours every day. Clean, spacious, cozy, and surprisingly quiet.

Our family had a great stay here. The unit was as advertised. The management company communicated very clearly and was available for any questions or issues (we did not have any). We took advantage of the ski lockers, shuttle to Main St restaurants, ski-home route (so cool!) and in-unit laundry. We would stay here again!
