The ocean wasn’t as clear as pictures, very rocky and lots of sea weed. Pools were nice and that’s where we spent most of the time. Staff was friendly, restaurants and drinks were good. Only downside was our room fridge wasn’t restocked except for soda. We had to call down for towels multiple times, didn’t have wash rags or hand towels almost the whole trip.

Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun was a nice property in a good location. Short beach, it was swimmable, a bit rocky, only small amounts of Sargassum. The room was large and clean, comfortable beds. The food was good in the restaurants. Breakfast buffet much better at the Mediterranean restaurant vs the Asian restaurant. Nice coffee shop. Biggest complaint is the lack of chairs/saving of chairs in beach and pool areas. By 7 am every chair in the pool areas was reserved with towels—mostly by people who didn’t show up until well after 11am. Heard many people say they set their alarms for 6, put out towels then went back to bed. Wish the resort would have (and enforce) a policy of not saving chairs—there would be plenty of room for everyone if people would just use their chairs during the time they were at the pool/beach. For this reason I wouldn’t return to this particular resort

They maintain the beach as best as they can. It is a really beautiful spot with calm waters that makes it enjoyable to swim in the water. It felt as though the rest of the resort was short staffed. Checking in took a while of standing in line (not something I was used to at an all inclusive). Many restaurants had 30 mins of wait time when arriving and then took a long time to get food and service. The spa was messy with stuff everywhere.

The property was beautiful and very well maintained. We enjoyed all the pools and restaurants were great. We even enjoyed the water slides. There shaded areas which was really nice when you don’t want to be in the sun. Rooms were really nice and clean. Staff was so nice and friendly. The restaurant managing staff Mario Valenza, and Graciela went above and beyond to serve us and meet our wants and needs. Super people. Our breakfast server Lydia was so sweet and served us like family. We would definitely recommend stay here.

People, don’t be fooled like me. The resort in general is amazing. I went to this resort from August 2-8. The food is top notch, it’s cleaned well, the staff is so friendly and accommodating, water comes in bottles, beer comes in cold cans, plenty of pools, and they aren’t strict about their towels. BUT, and know that I’m not a picky person when it comes to ocean water, but the beach here was disgusting. The beach is very small in itself and the water is so dirty, also, note that the water this time of year is very HOT, and usually I wouldn’t complain about warm sea water but this was ridiculously hot which made it even grosser. The photos they have posted on their website are very old and look nothing like how the beach looks now. I know that it’s seaweed season but I went to Barcelo Maya Grand Palace at the same time last year and the water was blue and clear and beautiful. Sure there was seaweed but it wasn’t brown like it was here at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun. I tried to get in water twice and it’s just so rocky that it’s impossible to get far and the bottom is just filled with seaweed there’s barely any sand to walk on. Just because the beach was so horrible I booked two tour trips on a catamaran to go to Isla Mujeres just so that I could swim in clean water. Also, when I was booking on Expedia, I thought i was booking 6 days at Hyatt Ziva Cancun and not Hyatt Ziva RIVIERA CANCUN.
