Rest, Relax and Renew. Our log cabin experience awaits your arrival.
The Goddard Place is located 5 miles East of Anna off of Route 146. We only have one cabin. It is close to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the Southern Illinois Wine Trail and the Shawnee National Forest. Your cabin features a living area with a sleeper sofa (for the young ones in the family), a recliner, a 32' flat screen television with DirecTV and a DVD player. The kitchenette includes a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, glassware and silverware. The queen sleigh bed, jacuzzi tub and lavatory complete the room. There is a shower and plenty of towels are provided. All you need to bring is your provisions!!
Quiet cozy cabin with all the amenities needed to enjoy the wine trail or Shawnee forest trails. Very clean and well appointed for a nice relaxing weekend!
My husband and I just wanted a quiet get away to do absolutely nothing. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of our jobs and home. I wanted to read a book, and he loves to fish. He walked to the pond; I sat on the deck (when it wasn't raining.) We were able to use the grill a couple of times in between showers. There was wildlife, deer, turtles, and birds to entertain. Town had an antique shop, and we visited neighboring towns for more shops and ate a meal in Carbondale which was about 30 minutes away. It was a very nice get away!
We only had a short 2 night stay, however we enjoyed the cabin very much. It is quaint and clean, in a very peaceful location. Lots of birds around, saw a bunny in the yard and 2 dear crossing the driveway. Sitting on the back porch facing the pond while I ate breakfast was lovely. Also my husband used the jacuzzi tub and enjoyed it. The bed is a little on the firm side, but even with my old achy body, I slept well. A note for others, make sure and bring your own shampoo - my hubby thought there would be mini shampoo like in a hotel. Lucky for him, I brought mine. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to locate any kitchen towels or sponges, so I had to use the bathroom hand towels and cloths to wash the dishes we used. The cabin sits on a private drive near the owner's home, but that was not a problem. I am not a good judge of distance away, but there were plenty of trees blocking the view in between. All in all it was a very nice place to stay.
Could not have picked a better location for our honeymoon. The host was so very sweet! The place was well stocked and clean! Perfect size for our needs and the view was phenomenal! If I could give 10 stars I would!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
From the area, but did a girlâs weekend here! We spent the whole weekend at the cabin as it was so relaxing. We sat in the rocking chairs and watched the thunderstorm go by, viewed a sunset by the pond, stargazed and even did a puzzle! We got crafty with the cold food we brought since there is only a mini fridge. It still worked out completely fine! The cabin was kept clean and the check in process was VERY easy. The hostâs house is within close proximity to the cabin. Chris came to greet me when I got there and showed me how to use the air conditioner which was super helpful! This cabin was exactly the staycation we needed! 10/10 would recommend.
Very relaxing to come back to after reunion crowd. Landscaping and pond made for beautiful setting. Everything you need was provided for us. Thanks Chris and Angela for sharing with us.
The cabin was a nice place for my husband and I to rest and relax. We really enjoyed having our morning coffee on the back deck that overlooks a pond. There were lots of interesting birds to see and hear, including a pair of eagles. The bed was firm, and the hot water plentiful. I recommend a visit to Giant City State Park, because it has pretty trails and a wonderful lodge with great food. The Brick House Grill also has fabulous food. We also really liked shopping Annabelle Market. I highly recommend a stay here!
We enjoyed our stay at this cute cozy cabin just outside of Anna, IL. It was quiet and as described in the listing. We checked out several of the local restaurants and it was close to Carbondale/Marion so we could go shopping/see a movie. The only thing I would suggest is maybe getting a softer mattress--we have a memory foam pillow top, so the mattress here was a little firm for our taste. Other than that, everything else was great. It was just nice to feel off the grid for a few days. We would consider staying here again.
My husband and I stayed at this adorable little cabin while in southern Illinois for our sons wedding at Blue Sky Winery. The cabin was perfect for just the two of us. My only "complaints" are when we pulled onto the property the signage stating the cabin is further back needs to be closer the road stating
It was perfect. Exactly what we were looking for. We would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys the outdoors, piece and quiet. We could live their.
