Be cautious. After a stay at this same unit with this same host in November 2025, I booked again for another stay in March 2026 for 3 nights. At check-in, I went to the lockbox and there was no key to access the building. I was informed by the host to book a hotel for the night and they would ârefund one nightâ. The closest hotel in the neighborhood was 88 more than 1 night stay at the VRBO. I sent a screenshot of the hotel cost to the host prior to reserving it and the host confirmed that I would be "refunded". With this confirmation, my understanding was that the "refund" would be the hotel charge. I had an event that evening and again the next morning, so I was forced to book the hotel and also store my luggage until the next day. After chasing the host through multiple messages on the VRBO app throughout the following day, the key to access the unit was finally available 27 hours after the original check-in time. I was able to access the unit for the remaining 2 nights of the reservation. After checking out, I sent over the hotel receipt to the host to request reimbursement and was informed they would only reimburse me for 1 night of the VRBO stay (88 less than the hotel charge for 1 night). I regret not contacting VRBO support immediately when I couldn't access the unit vs. working with the host directly to resolve the issue. Please consider this before booking; the host is a poor communicator and untrustworthy. Plus, the neighbors are loud...
