Incredible area near all types of restaurants, gyms and public transportation. Easy, free street parking. Incredibly spacious unit with 2 bedroom , huge kitchen with dishwasher and free on site washer /dryer. Plus more affordable than most other listings
I was charged 500 for door handle on a bedroom. This guy's a criminal. There is no way cost 500.I've been ripped off robbed from so he could fix his door handle. This is the worst experience I've ever had if I see this guy. He's gotta regret it
Don't waste your time, the inside is nice, it's redone for a rental unit, that's what you see in the listing. However when I came to check in to the building, the entrance instructions led me to a full metal door in a four foot wide dark (and damp) alley. Once inside, you find yourself in a random stairway where the downstairs is being demolished for renovation. Once inside the apartment, like I said, it's redone, it's good enough. However there was a second door that led to a random staircase that went who knows where. That door was equipped with a lock typically suited for a bathroom, incredibly easy to pick/ break into the apartment. Lastly the place is above a barbershop, which looks like a nice barbershop, but you can hear whatever music they're playing and feel the bass in the apartment as long as the barbershop is open, usually until about 8pm.
So don't waste your time, management on this property is a joke, it's mainly bots and they never pick up the phone.
I would strongly not recommend staying here. In reading the reviews for the penthouse on the 3rd floor here in the same 3 story building at 1566 N. LaSalle Drive, I see the owner replied to reviews saying that he had he been notified of problems he would have addressed them. I believe there are basic things that should be in place and not require the renter to have to complain about when they arrive like the place being clean, lights working, plenty of towels and dishes, etc.
My family and I were here for 8 weeks and below are all the problems we had to deal with. Additionally, they never got on the phone and expressed any apology and urgency to address everything. We had many issues but here are some key ones.
1. Constant millipede type bugs coming from under the baseboards that we had to kill ourselves.
2. Rodent issues - saw evidence of this one day and they had to close a hole.
3. HVAC Not Cooling when we arrived.
4. Access Issues: The door code (keyless entry) failed one day, and there was no quick response in chatting with the owner/property manager. I had to engage VRBO, who eventually provided the ownerâs phone number. This forced the owner to respond but this was not ideal as my son, and I were locked out of the unit. The lockbox next to the unit entry was used to get in as it had the key.
5.Accessibility: While there is a front door to the entrance, it is nonfunctional. Rather than fix this, the owner makes renters use a dangerous and dirty side building entrance.
