Excellent location. Clean. Quiet building. Host was incredibly responsive. There was a blizzard during our stay and the host graciously accomodated our request to extend our visit!
Safe, clean, and conveniently located in a quiet, picturesque Chicago neighborhood, this apartment met basic expectations but fell short in the details. The kitchen was serviceable, but the coffee maker was poor quality and the wrong filters were provided. There was a dishwasher, but no detergent, and the dish rack for hand dishes lacked a drip tray. A large crack on the microwave door suggests replacement might be needed. We also had to discard a moldy roll of paper towels, though replacements were provided. The bedroom was comfortable but under-furnishedâno dresser, few hangers, and no top sheet for the bed, only a thick comforter. The bedside lamp was absurdly unstable from a poor repair. The bathroom was dated yet functional. Additional hooks and a small shelf would be helpful, and the toothbrush holder was unstable.Minor cosmetic issues included scuffed walls, a broken blind, paint drips, and mismatched switches and plates. The ceiling-fan globe had been broken and glued together. On the plus side, the living room furniture was comfortable, we appreciated the earplugs providedâa thoughtful touch--and the A/C units worked well and kept the apartment comfortable throughout our stay.Overall, the apartment is very comfortable, and could easily win a 5-star review with just a little more attention to its livability.
