While the location is great and the space was clean, checking-in was extremely frustrating. Despite multiple communications with property management well in advance of arrival, they did not provide the check-in process or a door code until after nearly 2 hours of back and forth once we were in the neighborhood past check-in time. They simply ignored answering the actual question each time we asked how to get in the apartment complex until it became clear they'd overlooked a component of their own arrival system. It was eventually discovered they use the "Guesty" service and it requires you to submit your ID digitally; however, they never provided the link which ultimately auto-generates an e-mail with door code instructions. They were minimally apologetic for this oversight and communications were swift but felt robotic. I'm still baffled as to why the core issue wasn't obvious to them out of the gate, too. The place is fine, but this outcome was inexcusable for the number of times we communicated leading up to arrival trying to avoid this very issue. It wasted a lot of time and energy for both parties.
We love the location! Lakeview is awesome! The property was not as clean as desired, and only 2 bath towels were allotted for a 4 night stay for 2 people. There is a washer and dryer in the unit, but there wasnât any detergent, and hey, weâre on vacation! We donât want to wash towels! If you are looking for a place to hang out, this isnât it. If youâre out and about on the town and only sleeping here, itâs a great choice! The host was very responsive.
This is a nice little apartment near the CTA Belmont station and Wrigley in a great little neighborhood. Lots to do nearby or get into the city. I had a bit of trouble getting into the apartment because the codes were stored on another webpage system and I had trouble accessing it from my phone (it was raining which didn't help). Also, booking the place is a bit cumbersome with the extra forms to fill out. Other than that the stay was nice.
Perfect spot for quick weekend trip! Great location less than a mile from Wrigley and around lots of other restaurants and bars. Only complaint was no hot water for shower but believe that was getting replaced the day we checked out. Host was fantastic with communication at every step!
I would totally (and will) stay here again. Very basic but very clean. Good location on the edge of Lakeview. Checkin itself was easy. There is a lock code so there is no need to pick up a key. My only issue was pre-checkin. The day before, they asked for my gender, age, reason for visit and photo id. The photo id made me uncomfortable (Iâve never done that with an VRBO before and I travel in VRBOs all the time). Also, telling them I was a single woman all alone in the unit made me feel unsafe. Anyone with the code could get in, there was no separate deadbolt. Then, the night before, I was begging for the code and unit number. I finally got it at 10:00 the night before I arrived. I was getting quite concerned that it might be an identity theft scam. However, my worries were unfounded and the person was actually very nice and the unit was perfect.
