It is a nice safe hotel close to restaurants on Main Street. The rooms are adequate but small. The staff are functional but boring. Language skills could explain the boring, my skills as well as theirs.

Hotel Colono - Recommended

Pros: Clean and modern - Well maintained
Cons: The AC units in the rooms were loud. . but they worked well. This would be a nit-picky complaint. Overall there is not too much to complain about.
Location: Very close to the beach and bars and restaurants of Playa Coco which is a fairly old town. Wide variety of places to eat and drink.
We stayed at this nice modern hotel for eight nights. Walking distance from the "downtown" portion of Playa Coco area. Nice and clean with attentive staff. The rooms are all recently updated with tile floors and all tile bathrooms. Hot water most all of the time, we did not take any cold showers. One evening, the shower was barely warm enough, but a while later there was plenty of hot water, so maybe we just got a period of time where guests were using all of the hot water. NO BUGS! Very nice, clean pool. Comfortable beds were also apparently pretty new. The restaurant-bar was all outside with decent food, but nothing gourmet. The water is drinkable and tastes fine. I would stay there again.
