Dunkirk trip

We loved the location. Our room was very clean except for the dampness. There was no vent in the bathroom, the carpet was clean but damp. The beds were clean. I could not use the internet available due to lack of security. We did notice that there was renovation going on in the building which was promising. We would visit the hotel again and hopefully the reno will be complete

Paid extra for 'lake view', but i couldn't see the lake through the wondow condensation and the dirt. Service is down to understaffed front desk and virtually no room cleaning. I've been staying there for 30-plus years, and this will have been the last time.

Just near lake erie and beautiful. Just infront of hotel lots of smoking butt and no clean up other than that was a good place to stay. The staffs are excellent and friendly ans quick respon.

We had a great overnight stay here between fishing outings on Lake Erie. Friendly staff and Jenn does a great job with breakfast! Stellbound is an added plus!

Just an OK stay 😕

The staff was fantastic, very friendly, helpful & professional. The woman who oversees the breakfast was extremely attentive & friendly! I hate to leave a less than stellar review but the hotel accommodations was just ok. The rooms were clean but shabby: ceiling with obvious water damage, beds were just ok, and just seemed dingy overall. The hallway smelled like stale smoke. Just not what I would have expected for what I paid.

This hotel should be condemned

Very great staff- but ownership clearly doesn’t deserve them. Mold in the shower, rips in the carpet, heater in room smelled like it was burning, dirt/grime EVERYWHERE. They were out of towels for the entire hotel when I asked for a refresh three days into our stay after not having housekeeping the entire time. My husband and I have stayed here for almost 15 years, but hadn’t been in several and wow were we not prepared for how much it’s declined. Homeless and drug-addled people all around the property, lacking security- exterior doors consistently propped open, no proper lock on our room door. We won’t stay here again.

This was our third time staying at this property. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. The facility is having issues with ground water and moisture. The rug in our room was wet and there were water puddles in the hallway. We did elevate to management and were told that was normal for the first floor. They told us we should have stayed on the upper floors. Actually, they shouldn't be renting these rooms until they remedy the water problems. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. This is a health concern.

June 2025 stay

We stayed 2 nights 5 weeks apart. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful, we loved the location, the condition of the hotel needs renovation. The air conditioner in our room was not working, the maintenance man attempted to fix it but was unable to in a timely manner so he arraigned for us to move into another room. in that room the TV was not working. maintenance came up again and spent quite a bit of time and finally got it working. The condition of the room was ok but needed work. The wallpaper was beginning to peel and the rug was somewhat worn. the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay and would come again because of the location, however we feel the hotel is in need of upgrading. The staff was wonderful, everyone we met was polite, friendly and helpful. The gardens were beautifully maintained.
