Breakfast was good although no bacon option or fresh egg option. We came for breakfast at 9:30 and was told breakfast was done? Room was clean and quiet. Pillows were hard. Some were barely soft. I did sleep woke up with a slight headache.

Staff was unprofessional. We tried to check I. With our debit Visa card as we had done before. They argued against me saying they would never accept a visa debit unless we had paid a $250 deposit (which we did not) we were shamed for not having a ‘real’ credit card and questioned for it. When we proved tot he staff that we did indeed use a debit visa they told us that the gentleman who insured us a wonderful and quick check in would be penalized (multiple times this was brought up) they finally allowed us to check in reminding me they would never allow this again without a $250 damage deposit on a $85 room. It was an exhausting health trip made stressful by the desk staff. We won’t stay again. Still waiting on that $100 damage deposit to be e-transfered back to my debit visa as they would not return it back to my card but promised it would be e-transferred right away.

My issue is with Expedia. I booked at the Wyndham Edmonton Convention Centre (I know this because I’ve stayed there before and know the hotel and rooms). However upon arrival we were informed that we are actually booked at this Edmonton Convention centre as the Wyndham was fully booked for a private event. I’m super disappointed with Expedia as the Wndham should have came up as no rooms available instead we had to drive to a different hotel at 10:30 at night which wasn’t as nice. It was also very awkward when we arrived at the Wyndham to be told we couldn’t stay there as the private event was some sort of Taboo/Epic events private booking. Everyone in the hotel including staff was half naked/in fetish attire so we really stuck out being fully dressed and what not…
