You wouldn’t think a home in a nice area would be a problem. Wrong! This was meant to be a trip to spend with siblings and spouses. We had rodeo tickets and planned a day drive to Galveston. We wanted a home we could hang out in together. First, the code on the door didn’t work. It took multiple calls to the caretaker without a response. Finally the owner got on the ring cam and changed the code. Thirty minutes later we were in.Once in the house, we noticed a frame on the wall that showed the Star of David with a swastika on it. Totally inappropriate hate symbol to have posted.Next came the odd smell. There were 30 bags of trash and two huge bins full in the garage. Upon further investigation there were no blinds or curtains in bathroom and kitchen windows that faced the neighbors house. Towels were set out on beds so we took one to hang on the bathroom window. They were damp. Were they recently used or not dried enough? There was a nasty stain as you entered the front bedroom. It looked like dried blood but we didn’t get close enough to tell.All these things (especially the hate symbol on the wall) was too much. We did not stay. We left and found a hotel. The caretaker offered to come get some of the trash and put up some blinds. All these issues should have been taken care of before we arrived.Therefore we have requested a full refund. Still waiting on request.I don’t recommend anyone ever stay there.
