The intire hotel was very clean and up to date. The staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was great. Couldn't be convenient spot. A brisk walk to the beach, gas station and restaurants. Highly recommend for all that at a great price.

Everything was perfect for what we needed, breakfast was a little lacking on choice, but, there wasn’t much counter space, and for what we paid, it wasn’t bad, bacon or sausage patty with a form of egg on a bagel will always win :-)

I highly recommend Surf and Sand Hotel for many reasons. The location of it couldn't be any better. A brief walk to the beach, gas station and restaurant. The ouside and inside was very nice and clean. The staff was great. Breakfast was great. They have a panvaje maker instead of waffle like alot of hotels.The have a pool but its near the dumpster so we kept getting wiffs of the smell. Other than than it was a great stay.

No, the toilet didn’t flush but eventually after several notices was fixed. There was no hair dryer in the room as advertised. But they did bring one up to me. The parking was an extra fee if $12.00 per day.

Where do I start, was charge a $250 incidental fee not mentioned (this was more than the room cost, I have never paid this high of incidental before and stayed in a whole lot better places), charged $12.50 parking fee (again not mentioned), toilet was stopped up and stopped up 3 additional times with just urinating in it, door to room would not close properly (had to lift up on it when closing to get it to lock like it should and stay closed), breakfast was terrible (dehydrated scrambled eggs, stale bread & bagels, watered down OJ, sausage had no flavor and I have no idea what to say about potatoes other than blah). On a positive not bed was comfortable and AC/heat did work. Would I recommend or even stay here again; ABSOLUTELT NOT.

Overall I would say that our stay was good. The hotel was conveniently located for us as we were doing a reenactment at Fort Clinch, so the hotel being right next to that was nice. The parking is good and ample I would say. The room overall was okay, but definitely had something’s that were not great. First, as soon as we got to the room, the door was not easy to open because it was not aligned well so it kept getting stuck and we’d have to really push or pull to open it. Second, the tall lamp in the room had no lampshade. We told the front desk after we arrived to our room, and the young lady said she would get us one, but throughout the stay we never got one. Third, the pull out bed was absolutely disgusting. The legs of the bed were terribly rusted and left stains all over the mattress. The mattress was also very uncomfortable. Oh and you have to go down to the front desk to get the linens for it. Not convenient at all. Lastly, the bathroom is in need of some TLC, specifically the shower area. The shower curtain had an unusual stain on it and the wall near the shower had a rust color type of substance. Also the conditioner was never refilled before we got there and was empty after one shampoo. Would I stay here again? Possibly. Was it horrible, no. But the room we were in needed some TLC.
