Relaxing week

We had a great stay. The unit was clean and well stocked, the view from the balcony was perfect. We ate every lunch and several dinners there. The beach was clean and not too crowded. There were 4 beach chairs and a small umbrella in the unit, which saved us several hundred dollars in rentals of beach gear. The only negative was the access to the beach and pool. A fob is required for entry, and only one was available for the unit. With five adults/teens, it was tricky to negotiate who took the fob, and who had to walk all the way around to the public beach access. Overall a lovely week. The surrounding area is also beautiful, downtown Fernandina Beach was a fun destination as well.

Beautiful condo location

(Once we figured out how to find our unit)Everything about our stay was excellent. The condo was exactly as pictured, roomy, spacious, clean, the kitchen had everything that we needed, the back porch, with the corner view, was stunning, especially during sunrise. A couple things that are worth mentioning....when you arrive at the building, it is not clear at all as to how to find your unit. The check in instructions really need to include more information on this. Other small negatives are not having beach towels, chairs or umbrealla available, and there was no information on how to rent them. We were given a name which was several blocks away. In fact, there really is no information to speak of in the condo re: things to do, grocery shopping, local restaurants, etc. We used Harris Teeter grocery store which is an amazing store and had everything we needed.These are small inconvenices. We absolutely loved the unit and would definitely stay there again.

The location and property were very nice. The location was close to all that we needed. The views from the balcony were great. The condo had a nice layout and supplies. We had trouble entering the property but the management helped us with entry. It took a bit but we got in. Had no problems after that. The couch and mattress need replaced. We had a small issue with reservation but they worked with us to resolve it. Things happen but their response was good.

We'll be back!

We loved our stay. The pictures of the condo and the view don't do it justice. The corner unit and extra windows were very nice. Very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We had to move things to make room for food. 😅 I had questions before arriving and when we were leaving and got very prompt responses. I miss the sound of the ocean. Can't wait to return!

Ants and Gnats

‱ When we arrived, we saw ants on the counter and on the stove and gnats were in all the rooms. I contacted property management and they said they would send someone out the next day to spray. He came the next day and sprayed regular bug spray which helped with the ants but not the gnats. I called back and they replied they would have gnat traps delivered. I only received 2 in spite of having gnats in all the rooms. The ants were back the next day and the gnats were never gone. I even found dead gnats inside the refrigerator. It was very upsetting that every time I walked into the kitchen I had to check for ants and had to fight with the gnats landing on food and lighting in your drinks. This ruined the trip for us. ‱ Having only 1 RF chip to access the pool and beach was very inconvenient. If anyone was on the beach they had to come back to let others access the pool or beach. Using a code lock would be a much better choice. ‱ In the master bedroom the sheetrock seams in the ceiling had been painted over at some point and the paint was flaking off. ‱ I called and requested a discount on the rental and received about $85. This was not nearly enough for the ant and gnat issue we endured. ‱ Assigned parking spaces were confusing done in a seemingly random manner. The best parking spaces were the non-assigned spaces close to the building. ‱ Location was good and dĂ©cor was nice especially the items on the walls.

Out of Control Parties

First 3 days were good, next 2 were so bad we left early. Out of control parties being held directly below our condo. We called the emergency number for the condo, I was told Vacasa doesn’t get involved in disputes. Thus we called 911. Not much changed. We were told by Vacasa mgmt & head of maintenance that there would be no more issues. And if there was an issue, the tenants would be thrown out. Didn’t happen. I’m fact nothing happened. Twice the people showed up the second night, approx 40-50. Yelling, screaming, doors being beat on & slamming were over the top. I reported the same issue to the Vacasa emergency number & was told they would investigate. Called 911 again. Nothing happened again. We decided to leave one day early rather than chance another sleepless night. We reported the issues again the day we left & have heard nothing back. I guess acceptance of problems is okay with Vacasa. We drove over 1400 miles & paid just under $3000 for the condo. NEVER staying at this condo again. If you have problems that need addressed, forget it Vacasa doesn’t care. Wonder what the condo owner thinks? Hope they read this review.

Great unit

This is an updated and nicely remodeled unit compared to others we have stayed in over the years at Amelia South. One negative is the “smart TV” in the living room. It would go blank and freeze. Maintenance changed the batteries in the remote but that didn’t help. It would be nice if there were cable for folks like my senior citizen parents to easily navigate the channels and see local news and weather. We always enjoy our time on Amelia island and most likely will return, if the prices don’t keep rising! Lol

Great spot for a quiet beach vacation

Perfect 2nd floor location with super views of the ocean off the deck. Comfortable and clean, offers plenty of amenities to cook. Fridge is relatively new and large as is the dish washer. We liked how the floors were tiled, not carpeted. Pool and beach seconds away, very accessible. Good location, somewhat centered on the Fernandina beach close to historic section as well as Harris Teeter in the other direction.

The good and bad and ugly

The view is and the beautiful and this condo is convenient to many restaurants .and roads We love the location. However there is room for improvement . The baseboards were dirty. The family room TV difficult to navigate and when I called for assistance I was told the tech would call me back but never did. There was a clump of hair in the master shower drain which was disgusting . There was only one reading lamp in the living room -the other lamp was in a closet (apparently not working). One light on the porch was burned out. The entry lock has a TEN digit code that sometimes worked on the 1st try but most often had to be tried 2 or 3 times. Last but very annoying...we had only one fob for entering the pool area and beach which meant three of us had to always be together. Very inconvenient!!! You asked that we start a load of wash before departing but left no laundry detergent.

Relaxing beach stay

Our family felt right at home in this nicely updated beachfront condo! It was the perfect amount of space for our family of 5, and we enjoyed the extras provided, such as the sand toys and beach chairs! The space was clean and comfy! We will definitely be back!

great quiet get a way

This was a great place to stay as a family. Only one restaurant within walking distance so I suggest going to the grocery and cooking in. People below us were smoking on their balconey so this limited use of our balcony since the smoke was very noxious. The condo was very clean, kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. Linens and beds were comfy.

Girls Getaway

The unit was perfect for our 3 day getaway. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, check in was easy and the unit was clean. It was nice being an end unit, it seemed a little more private. Being right on the beach made it easy to watch the sunrise and go sharks teeth hunting. We’ve all decided we are going to make a our trip an annual event and will definitely consider stayin in this unit again!

Great Location and Wonderful Beach View!

We had a really great stay, the condo was very nice and as pictured. Waking up and sitting on the balcony to the beach each morning and each evening was wonderful and the distance to the pool and beach was perfect! The only thing I would highly recommend is replacing the mattress in the master bedrooom, very soft and caved in where sleeping, halfway through the trip my husband and I both were very sore waking up. I would also suggest the sofa as well, just very worn and not very comfortable for the main gathering area. We would definitely stay again and hopefully these things will be corrected to make it more enjoyable for future guests!

Great beach condo in a great beach town!

This was my family's first trip to Amelia Island, and we are so happy we selected this property! The location is absolutely perfect. You're 5 minutes from grocery stores, coffee shops, and all the restaurants you could want. But the condo itself is truly amazing. It's well-appointed, has all the comforts of home, and everything you need to have a wonderful beach vacation. An added bonus is that it's a corner unit, which makes it feel more like a standalone beach house rather than a typical beach condo. We will most definitely be back!
