Surrounded by water, this 14x3 mile island is home to a plethora of activities including kayaking, fishing (back water/deep sea), surfing, shark tooth hunting, bird watching, photography, dining and more. A relaxing beach getaway or an exciting destination. As the only location in the US ever under the rule of 8 Flags, our island has been home to Pirates and the Prominent. Historic American Beach sits nestled in the dunes on the Southern End as home of the 1st African American Millionaire is the States, Mr A.L. Lewis. Just 1 mile north, accessible only by boat, the picturesque Cumberland Island features homes of the late Carnegie and Rockefeller Families. WONDERFUL HOME with a perfect location at the end of a quiet street and convenient to EVERYTHING...beach, shopping, restaurants, etc. The house was EXTREMELY CLEAN with a very convenient bedroom configuration and bed size choices. This host understands the importance of having a well stocked home for guests-from the more than sufficient amount of towels to providing kcup choices to use in the Keurig to having multiple blankets for everyone. I wish that every host understood these important amenities. The front porch with rockers and swing was enjoyable and relaxing. The most impressive thing about this host's rental home is that they have a note that tells you to enjoy your stay and DO NOTHING when you leave...no stripping beds...no cleaning dishes...no starting laundry...no emptying all trash cans...no sweeping...a TRUE vacation. After you spend money on a vacation rental including cleaning fees, it is so frustrating to then have to do part of the job of the cleaning crew. Thank you for that. We will definitely return to this rental.

This place was very nice. It was exactly what my family needed. There were 7 of us. And we did have a dog. The yard is not fenced in, but it worked. Okay. A nice big yard. The house was furnished very nicely. Especially the kitchen, the owner was very easy to communicate with. We came for my grandson's wedding and it was centrally located to everything we were doing could even have a couple friends.Come in and entertain them at the house.Overall it was an excellent experience

The front steps needed painting so it gave a very poor first impression. No shower or tub on first floor. I am 82 yrs old and had to climb about 24 steps/stairs to get to full bath. The water had an odor that gave a very bad feeling to even shower or drink!!!

Our family had a wonderful stay in your lovely, spacious, clean, well-positioned home! The shell-collectors and history buffs among us had a great time at nearby Fort Clinch and our 16-year-old enjoyed night-fishing at Peters Point. We all enjoyed schmoozing on your porch in your rockers!

Exceeded expectations!

I cannot speak highly enough of this great VRBO. There was plenty of room for my family gathering and lots of room for those that stayed there. Communication with host Kelli was great. A issue at start of stay was quickly rectified. Highly recommend. Great location, near everything, yet quiet at the end of a dead end street. It is a beautiful property.

Property is on a dead end street so very quiet. Owner was very accommodating and house was clean and well stocked. Only negative is the house is on well water so it has that sulphur smell when showering or using faucets. Overall very pleased.

We had a great stay! The house was very clean and looked just like the pictures. Check-in was easy, and the host was very responsive. We did run into an issue with the HVAC unit beeping and the AC not working properly, but the host quickly addressed it and had someone come out to fix it. Overall, the house is comfortable and spacious—perfect for a small family. Great location too!
