Nice but Very Noisy.

Property is very clean and located right where you want to be for Maho beach. Excellent for plane spotting as long as you are above the 2nd floor. The room is very comfortable and the view of the pool and ocean is great! The only problem is, on one of the two sides of the hotel, the bedroom is directly over the road and a bar that blasts music from 8pm to 2am. Don’t expect to sleep other than 2am to about 8 am if you are placed on this side of the hotel.

My husband and I, along with our 3 adult children and their spouses visited the Royal Islander to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The grounds were very well kept with tropical flowers all around. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with kitchenettes that we put to good use.The pool is large and clean and just a few steps from the beach and a waitress is always handy to provide cool beverages for everyone. We enjoyed the poolside Bingo and the Crafter's tables. Activities and excursions were easy to plan with the on site activity coordinator. The elevators are fast. Groceries, dining and shopping were all within just a short walk and if we needed a taxi, they were there within minutes. We and our family loved our time at the Royal Islander La Plage and will absolutely be coming back.

Loved the location of the resort and watching the airplanes land and take off. The rooms were outdated but had everything we needed. Loved the pool area and access to the beach! The umbrellas and chairs on the beach got taken pretty early but I liked that the hotel had a sand/beach area where you wouldn’t be bothered by vendors.

Excellent location to Maho & mullet beaches! Resort is a little outdated but very clean & comfortable. Like a condo with separate bedroom, living room/dining/kitchen with all appliances & cookware. Great pool, Tortuga restaurant & bar, & steps to Maho beach. We arrived early & they stored our luggage & gave us towels for beach/pool until we could check in.

This resort was exactly what I was looking for. Our studio suite was facing the pool area but with lots of foliage and flowers for privacy but step out the front door and there was lots to do. The room was kept clean, even washing our dirty dishes. Excellent water pressure! The pool and beach were beautiful and I felt very safe with a presence of security always visible. We rented a car and were able to explore and very secure parking was available for $8 a day. I would definitely come back here.

Dated, but very clean, some facilities are next door. Not a big party scene in the hotel after hours but there are bars nearby if that is what you are looking for, two casinos in walking distance
