Before we arrived, we weren’t sure what to expect because the reviews were such a range of absolutely amazing or completely horrid.
Our first time to the Keys, and we wanted an old school vibe that was quiet and relaxed, in the middle of the Florida Keys, and we could slow down and enjoy ourselves.
The resort is older, but well maintained and clean. Yes, there are some dings in the flooring, and walls, but age isn’t dirt.
I booked a deluxe king, and we had room 18, the Blue and Gold Macaw room. Communication with the front desk was EXCELLENT, our flight had been very delayed because of snow, and we weren’t sure if we’d arrive prior to front desk staff leaving for the night. They were very kind, professional, and thorough in explaining how we’d get the room key upon arrival.
Parking was fine, loved the location, and the water view was lovely.
Didn’t have the opportunity to use the kayaks, but chatted with staff about how to reserve them. The resort is very quiet, we talked to one of the neighbors twice, and otherwise felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Housekeeping does not come daily - which I knew and was fine with. We asked for extra towels and paper products when needed, and received them promptly.
Was a great stay for us.
