I would not recommend Wingate by Wyndham in Niagara Falls, NY based on my recent stay. From check-in to check-out, the experience fell short of what I would expect from a Wyndham property.
The check-in process immediately set the tone. Instead of a warm welcome, the front desk staff felt cold and unaccommodating. Even though I had already checked in through their online portal and uploaded my ID for a supposedly âfaster check-in,â the staff insisted on seeing my ID again. It made me wonder what the point of uploading documents beforehand was if they werenât actually used. There was no effort to explain anything about the property or even offer a friendly greeting. Instead, the staff asked for my carâs plate number, which I didnât provide since I wasnât driving. Rather than resolving it smoothly, he turned to his colleague, saying my reservation indicated I had a car, something I never entered in the first place. The whole interaction felt mechanical and unfriendly.
When I asked about breakfast, instead of explaining the details, the staff just handed me a small piece of paper and dismissed me with a vague âyou can go up to your room.â It didnât feel welcoming at all, and as a guest, I felt like I was more of an inconvenience than someone they wanted to assist.
The property itself also had issues. During my stay, one of the elevators was broken, which caused long waits for the only working elevator. On top of that, the key tap function to access your floor wasnât working pr
