Other than Marie in the breakfast room, the staff were not welcoming or friendly. Our room was clean and well appointed, but some of the common areas were dirty and needed more attention (bathroom door handles, etc.). The lady working during breakfast was wonderful. Very friendly. She always made our day. The only complaint we have is that there wasn't an anti slip mat in the bathtub. It was very slippery which is a safety hazard, especially for older folks.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. I arrived around 10:15 PM with my young child after a long drive, only to be told there was no parking available on site. The staff explained that because I booked through a third-party site, parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. I was never informed of this beforehand, and they insisted that I “should have called” to ask about parking availability — something I didn’t expect to be my responsibility when booking a hotel. They directed me to use public parking nearby, but finding a spot late at night in an unfamiliar area was extremely stressful. The GPS took me to the back of the building, and when I called the hotel for help, the staff couldn’t provide any clear directions or landmarks to guide me. After driving around for quite a while, I finally managed to find parking and walk back to the hotel with my child — which was not only inconvenient but also unsafe at that hour. Overall, it was a terrible experience that completely ruined the start of our stay. I would not recommend this hotel, especially for families or anyone arriving late in the evening

We stayed at this property on October 24, 2025 to attend the University of Ottawa open house. After a long drive, we arrived at 8pm to learn the hotel had no paid parking left. The hotel is attached to a paramedic station (lots of sirens) and a homeless shelter is across the street with several people sleeping outside. We were surprised to learn we would drop our bags off, search for parking in downtown Ottawa and then walk back to the hotel. This is something to keep in mind if you’re travelling alone or with young children. Hotel itself is nice but for an average of $300 per night, I’d expect parking to be a available (especially when it is an additional $18 on top of room cost)
