Beautiful hotel. Staff was very friendly & accommodating.. restaurant was exceptional.. bar was great.. coolest thing when we where there, a cool mariachi band was playing in the bar area.. would highly recommend for anyone visiting the River Walk

To begin with the water situation within the room was poor unable to get consistent hot water scalded back to freezing back to scalding not consistent at all. Step down out of tub unsafe, tub bottom and floor were at different levels. Pool deck was not managed well no towels frequently dirty deck cushions are old and dirty.

Our stay at the Hotel Contessa during my professional conference and the last week of Fiesta was nice. Our room was much larger than expected and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My only complaint would be about cosmetic issues. The curtain in the bedroom would not close completely and the rod was detaching from the wall, several lamps in the room did not function and most of the furniture was in very well used condition. The dining table also had some smudges on it when we arrived. However, the beds were comfortable and our stay was pleasant. The short walk to the convention center, river walk hit spots, and La Villita was worth the cosmetic blemishes. I’d definitely stay at Hotel Contessa again, but with new properties going up in the area and lots of competition among the hotels, this property could use a little bit of a facelift to compete.

The hotel is amazing, clean, rooms are spacious and the views are great, but service can improve. Check in was really slow bc there was only one person with a line. I was able to check in early which allowed me to enjoy the hot tub/pool but there was no service up there. When I called to order drinks the for 2nd time no one answered the phone. When I called for toothpaste they told me they would send housekeeping but no one ever came. Besides these hiccups overall it was good.

The experience at hotel stay wise was great. What ruined it for me at the end was the valet service damaged my passenger front wheel. Brand new car only couple weeks old, really disappointed in the service.

The location was great. Was disappointed for a 4 diamond star hotel on service. Took 2 calls to service for extra towels the first night. And 2 calls to service for extra towels and toilet paper the next night! We ended up having to go to the Lobby bathroom! WTH!!! extremely disappointined. $300+ a night does not buy you toilet paper???

Anniversary trip

Had a great experience at Hotel Contessa. Great location on a quiet corner of the river. The rooms were very spacious. Love that it was a suite with the bedroom separate the hotel lobby had a great bar, but extremely loud music plays late Ambler restaurant was delicious for dinner and breakfast.
