It’s got that vintage charm a lot of us look for, but you can find that and have a way better experience—especially if you’re traveling solo for work. The place itself is pretty great, but it’s clear the staff is overwhelmed with the recent spike in tourism. If you’re looking for a spot where you can just exist and get some work done (without worrying about being kicked out by the manager), I’d recommend heading to the west side of the island instead.

No Hot water really, tepid maybe. ,facilities are less or below expectations and staff could be more profesional. I stand often in Hotels and I am a Platinum expidia clients because of that, but El Colonial i dont think i would ever repeat it me or any of my staff.

Beautiful and quaint hotel in an excellent location. Close to attractions and restaurants and a short ride from the airport. Small but clean room with basic amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice rooftop and the open bar was a gem. Pros: Great location, amazing staff, open bar. Cons: Small bathrooms, no elevator, no pool. I would recommended this hotel for its location and wonderful staff.

Brilliant hotel

We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff were incredibly kind and very friendly. The open bar was an added treat which we really enjoyed and made friends at the bar. The building itself is beautiful, with lovely style and decor. The room was more on the basic side but that was fine as we spent more time exploring beautiful San Juan. The location was excellent. We would 100% stay again, thank you

This is a small European like hotel in old San Juan. The hotel is very calm and quiet, with no kids allowed. The staff are very friendly and helpfu. You have to remember there is no elevator, and the rooms are small by US standards. We had an interior room with no windows. They do not serve food, but there are tons of restaurants very close to the hotel. Did I mention the open bar?

We have stayed here in the past, but this experience was horrible. The young man with long hair at checkout was rude. TVs didn’t work. No help with suitcases. Overall not a great experience for us for the price. Would not recommend
