Sanctuary Woodland Guest House, located next to the conservation area!
Our guest house is located on a picturesque 5 acres, next to a woodland forest. We also run a bird sanctuary on the property, Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary, which makes this a paradise for an animal lover! We are happy to give guests a tour of our sanctuary. There is a large deck and fire pit for an enjoyable evening, and a walking trail for wildlife enthusiasts! We kindly ask guests not to bring meat onto the property as we are running a sanctuary that promotes compassion for all animals. We do have 3 vegan cookbooks in the kitchen for you do enjoy!
We were able to check in a tad earlier as I checked the renter beforehand which was great because I didnât want to have to find the location in the dark. Such kind hosts and the house was adorable and perfect for the night.
Very nice place for an overnight stay. You do hear highway traffic at night. We just turned on a fan for white noise. We didn't spend much time at the house but it was nice to have a place available in the area.
The hosts answered questions quickly and we're friendly.
I rented the property mostly based on the fact that it was in a relatively dark sky area in relation to Chicago. The house was charming. We were surrounded by the bird sanctuary & woodland. The turkeys were next to the house & we never once tired of hearing their calls. Rehana & Joe were very busy preparing for an event but still were helpful & responsive with everything we asked & needed. The path in the back was so pretty. We held a bonfire as we watched the meteor shower. <3
Loved the home away from home feeling. Nature at its finest! Very comfortable and spacious. Great get away for a long weekend and only 25 minutes from Lake Geneva!
Well worth the trip - you get to see what good people are doing for rescue animals - their upkeep of the property and care for the animals is fantastic. will visit again.
We spent the weekend in Lake Geniva Wisconsin attending Grandson's graduation. We opted to stay outside of town at this property. This was exactly what we need to avoid the expensive hotels and the large crowds in Lake Geniva during the weekend. How relaxing it was to return back to the house and enjoy the peaceful suroundings. Waking up to the rooster crowing took me back to staying at my grandma's!
We were attending the 2 days of Harvard Milk Day festivities. This was a nice respite to return to each evening and itâs near to town location allowed us to also enjoy morning coffee sitting outside listening to the proud Tom turkey and roosters flanking the house.
The owners were responsive and the place was as described. I just needed a place close to work for a long-1.5 week project that required lots of overtime.
This cottage is warm and comfortable on far enough off the highway to be quiet and make you feel like you're in farm country. A very pleasant stay with charming owners.
This was a short getaway for just myself. The cottage is peaceful, which is just what I needed!
I was very pleased with my experience here. The hosts Joe and Rehana are very friendly, and responsive to some questions I had prior to coming. I would definitely consider staying here again! Thanks!!
We really appreciated experiencing the sanctuary and seeing the care Rehana and Joe put into it! We would come again as a guest or volunteer. Thank you for making your place available. đ
