Charming Cottage with Jacuzzi, Fire Pit and Access to Nearby Lakes!

Nestled in the hamlet of Smallwood, only 2 hours from NYC, this newly renovated 2BR/1BA cottage is the perfect getaway from the city and an oasis surrounded by nature. The area has several nearby public lakes such as Toronto Reservoir which is a local gem where you can swim, fish and boat; Lake Superior State Park which is only 5 mins away and is family friendly, has grills, bathroom/changing areas, paddle/row boat rentals and a lifeguard on duty and White Lake in Bethel which is a public lake and has swimming and boat rental facilities and lovely lake view restaurants to grab delicious food on a beautiful warm day. The Forest Preserve in Smallwood has hiking trails and a waterfall, and there is so much more to explore such as Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (the original Woodstock site!), an alpaca farm, waterpark, Legoland or cute towns with great dining options. At night, gather on the spacious deck or around the fire pit or take a dip in the spa jacuzzi.

Our lovely 2BR/1BA cottage has been updated with a new kitchen, bathroom and a large deck that features a spacious jacuzzi. As soon as you enter, you walk into a spacious and open concept space that features a living room with comfortable seating that opens up onto the deck in the back, the dining space, and an open kitchen that offers another entrance onto the deck. The fully stocked kitchen features an island with plenty of space to prepare meals as well as be a gathering area for everyone to be together. Both cozy bedrooms have large windows that look out into nature and invite you to feel like you're part of it. We have fast and reliable internet for your streaming or work on your laptop needs. The deck which overlooks the beautiful woodland garden can be accessed from the living room and kitchen. It features a comfortable seating area with a fire pit, a jacuzzi and a bbq grill. The house is as comfortable as it is functional.

KITCHEN
The newly remodeled kitchen features an electric slide in stove and is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals including a french press, microwave, toaster and blender. We offer our guests coffee, tea and basic spices.

LIVING ROOM
Our sofa is a great combination of firm and comfy and is large enough to accommodate 3 adults. The massive side chair invites you to curl up with a glass of wine or a good book.

BEDROOMS
Both bedrooms feature queen sized beds, both with super comfy green tea infused memory foam mattresses. There is so much natural light coming in from all the windows that you'll feel part of the surrounding nature instead of apart from it.

BATHROOM
The newly remodeled bathroom is spacious, featuring a modern and cozy aesthetic as well as clean and modern finishes.

DECK
The deck faces the backyard and a wooded area. It features a BBQ, a cozy seating area and a jacuzzi. This is the perfect spot to sip your coffee or a drink, enjoy your meals, take a dip in the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking or activities, read a book, relax or watch the deer that frequent the area. We have string lights around the deck railing to enhance the atmosphere and provide the right amount of lighting on those summer nights.

WIFI AND CELL SERVICE
Wi-Fi is fast and reliable although cell service may be a bit spotty depending on your provider. We do suggest activating wi-fi calling on your phone in order to be able to make and receive calls during your stay.

PRIVACY
Please note that we have neighbors and their houses are visible from the cottage.

AIR CONDITIONING
During the summer, we have A/C window units installed in the two bedrooms and another one in the dining area. We have found that the house stays fairly cool with these units when bedroom doors are left open to allow for cross ventilation. We can provide fans as additional ventilation.
