"We had a gorgeous Bungalow Suite which was perfect for my husband and me and our 9month old. My only complaint was they need new playpens. The board piece that the baby lays on was all broken so that you could feel the metal rail under it. How uncomfortable. The staff did find me a piece of foam to use but that woud be unsafe for a younger baby. I spoke to another mom there and she had the same problem. We enjoyed the pool, the restaurant, the gorgeous grounds and the restaurant across the street too. The staff was wonderful and took care of a suitcase and package that we had shipped to the hotel. They had them waiting in our room when we checked in. We can't wait to return and stay again on the "Sunny Side of Carmel". May - August it can be foggy and cool in Carmel-by-the-Sea, but sunny and warm/hot in the Valley. So stay in the valley if you want bigger hotel rooms, a resort feel and better weather. It's only 10 mins to the town of Carmel-by-the-Sea."

"I had an interesting experience here. It wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t consider it to be a pleasant stay either. Upon arriving at 7pm to check in I was told that my room wasn’t ready and that I had to wait another 15 minutes. Keep in mind this was on a Sunday night and I had booked two nights in advance. When I stepped into my room I noticed inside of the bathroom that the handle was missing from the sliding glass door of the shower. Also the toilet did not flush very well. The heater/ac unit wasn’t working properly so we had a difficult time keeping the room warm. The price of this experience is my main issue. For what I paid I would expect my room to be fully operational and in tact upon my arrival and it would be nice to have a smooth check in when booking in advance and checking in at a later time of the day."

"We’ve stayed at three different Embassy Suites properties recently, and they couldn’t be more different from one another. The Embassy Suites in Anaheim was by far the worst experience. The property felt poorly maintained, our room had ants, and it was filthy. I would not recommend staying there. Our stay at Embassy Suites Santa Clara Silicon Valley was the complete opposite. It was modern, upscale, and felt like a brand-new hotel. Everything was excellent, which is what led us to book Embassy Suites Monterey Bay. I would rank the Monterey property somewhere in the middle. It’s definitely better than Anaheim, but it doesn’t come close to the quality and condition of the Santa Clara location. One of my biggest disappointments was the Pure Wellness room. We paid extra for this upgraded room category, but it was not well maintained. The room itself was dirty, and the air purifier was covered in dust and appeared to have gone months without servicing. If you’re considering a Pure Wellness room, I would strongly recommend checking the filter and equipment yourself upon arrival. That said, the front desk manager was exceptionally kind and responsive. She compensated us with dinner, which helped improve our overall experience and was greatly appreciated. The restaurant was a highlight of the stay. The food was excellent, and I would honestly return just to eat there. The pool area was also nice and well stocked with towels. Unfortunately, cleanliness remained an issue througho"

"Housekeeping didn't do a good job of cleaning our room. She never changed our sheets, we had spilled something the previous night and the stains were still on the sheets the following day after Housekeeping finished. Also there was no shower gel in the dispenser, it was empty, after calling the front desk, they bring a bar of soap instead. Agreed to give a discout but ipon check out the manager wasn't there."
