There's a coffee shop/cafe on site, as well as a snack bar/deli. Public spaces have free WiFi. Knights Inn Amsterdam also features a garden, laundry facilities, and an ATM. Self parking is free.
Smoking is allowed in designated areas at this Amsterdam motel.
This is a low-end motel. There is incessant traffic noise from the highway. The only nearby eating establishment is Star Cafe, a typical greasy spoon with minimal fare. The only saving graces are the adjacent laundromat and the price. There is also a minimart by the gas station for survival needs.
we paid top dollar for the Jacuzzi suite. Room was out dated and smelled like mold and cat urine. They offered a regular suite. But after seeing the expensive room we were afraid to see the low end room. They did not want to refund any money. Because we used a 3rd party booking. We did not stay we drove the 3 hours home
This property was fairly clean but shabby and run down. A new bathtub is sorely needed. The bed was comfortable and there was a small refrigerator with a freezer which we needed. The person at the desk was friendly and helpful. We have stayed places for the same cost that were much nicer
It was economical but deferred maintenance probably accounts for that. Outside is trash-free. Front desk young man was efficient. Room smelled musty. Couldnât stay there more than one night.
In spite of all the negative reviews we read .. some of which portray this hotel as seedy .. and "dangerous" this was not our experience and I was glad I booked before I read them. The staff was fantastic, friendly and accommodating - and we arrived late.. so they could have been not nice. yes the building is tired and aging . and needs an update ..very much so .. but for the cost - was well worth it. and when paired with Star's Cafe - a small independent 6am to 2pm breakfast lunch cafe.. which for less that $20.00 we got 2 "everything omelettes" that filled a platter with, toast and coffee -- who needs the "included" stock breakfasts you get at most discount motels like Super 8 .. in Canada those omelettes would have been $20 ea. .. so worth the stay for a quick stop .. while travelling I90
old soap on the tub shelf and there the second day also.
no tea or even hot water. I filled a cup of water in the
laundry room -the sink was filthy.
I only stayed the second night because of the price.
I am on limited income and no senior discounts, etc.
I booked a room on expedia.ca and upon arriving at the hotel I was informed the room was not supposed to be listed for online booking. The desk clerk tried to upsell me into the the same room for more money. I took a standard room. The room condition was pathetic to say the least. The bed was broken, the desk chair was not able to be sat in for fear of falling apart, the bathroom was from late 70's or early 80's. Five days later I am still waiting for a refund from expedia due to the manager never being at work.
Actual large section of mildew on the bathroom ceiling. Very loud environment with folks roaming around at 2am. However, sheets and towels were at least clean.
There was some significant mold in the bathroom that set off my asthma. The bathrooms werenât quite what was in the pictures. It was okay enough for just crashing for the night, but I wouldnât have stayed longer.
The place was dirty, bed had holes and stains the bed itched all night. Staff where not the best bathroom disgusting and shower was clogged and stunk the whole time and a big sticky stain on the floor.
I thought the negative reviews were people over reacting until my visit.
There is an additional charge (deposit) when you get there that was not on the website.
Check-in lady told me she needed a deposit (even though my room was paid in full) first she said $200 then $300 (a handwritten sign taped to the register read $100. You get it back once you checked-out instead of waiting 14 days back on your credit card.
When I checked out another lady gave me a hard time. I had a receipt and told her I'm not leaving without the deposit.
The rug was not cleaned at all and was wet, go barefoot in the room and your feet ended up black/dirty.
Locks you had to push your door shut to actually lock it.
They have no extra rolls of toilet paper and forget about having the bedsheets cleaned/dry or extra pillows
Towels they had to take to wash/dry and return as well.
The maids that came around was the only thing positive
I can say about this place. They were polite to us, apologetic, they did deserve the tips.
