For me, a single traveler, the location and price it was good enough for 1 night. There isn't much to do at hotel, you can bird watch. The guy at front desk was very helpful with a map to a nice place to hike called hotnarko falls nearby. There is no cell phone service, but there is wifi. Gas stations are very limited on way to hotel. My room was just a single twin bed and no cable tv, but room was comfy for 1 night. The bathroom was down hall. So I tried to limit my trips at night.

Gorgeously situated Lodge at Anahim Lake. Spectacular views on the lake from the dining room. Friendly, helpful hosts. Excellent food and very good breakfast options. Comfy beds.

When we arrived our reservation wasn’t on file even though we had booked. No issue as this happens but the owners were not nice at all and acted like we were a huge inconvenience. The room was like stepping back into the 1980’s and as the property is on the lake one would think the lake would be the focus but our room faced inward and apart from the dining room there was no lake focus at all! Supposedly there was a lounge and other areas but we were not told about them. There was a restaurant and it was nice they could accommodate us for dinner (as no other options) but expensive and overcooked. Felt like we were intruding on a family holiday!!

First, we are saddened to hear you were not happy with your stay. It is true that we had no record of your booking. It appears that you booked, cancelled, and re-booked another date. Somewhere in there we lost track, and that is entirely our fault. When you arrived our first priority was to ensure you were at the correct resort, as people have confused us with other properties in the past. We did have a room of equivalent quality available, and so we were able to atone for our mistake by offering this room. Then, as it was late afternoon, we needed to ensure the kitchen was able to accommodate another three people for dinner, and happily they were. We were mortified at our error in your booking, and concerned about the meal situation, and apologized multiple times for the error and resulting confusion. You did arrive with your daughter, and our online listing explicitly states the room accommodates only two people, not three. This further heightened our concern as we know that 3 people in a room for 2 results in a less than ideal experience. At no time did we consider you an “inconvenience” or “intruding” on our space, and it is unfortunate you mistook our embarrassment at all the confusion for something else.As far as your other comments go, it is true that the room provided had a garden view and not a lake view. But you were able to walk the property, enjoy the view from the garden over the lake, and go out on the dock, as well as enjoy the magnificent view from our lakeside dining room. So all was not lost. All of our rooms are individually and tastefully decorated, so I'm sure your comments on the room's decor were just you blowing off steam. Concerning the dinner, the overwhelming majority of our guests are absolutely effusive in their praise of the meals we deliver. While it is not impossible that yours were not up to our usual standards, that is certainly uncommon. As far as price goes, we are at the low end of what equivalent restaurants would charge, and that is despite our high acquisition costs due to our remoteness.Again, we apologize for having lost the record of your booking, and so would like to offer you a meal on us the next time you are in our area.

Great boutique hotel

Interesting rooms and very friendly staff. The meals are great. But if you are there in June/July do bring mosquito repellent.

We really liked the location on the lake. Our room was nice and had a great view of a Bay where there was a lot of birds including Pelicans.The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. It is an older establishment but well kept.

It was close to the highway twenty and had a good dining room with good food. I did not like that there was a shared bathroom.

Hi James. Thanks for your kind words. The room you booked is the only one without an in-suite bathroom, but even that one is private to the room you were in (not shared). Hope the rest of your travels went well.
