I’m a mom to a 3 year old - this “staycation” was supposed to be my big holiday gift. At check in, I waited in line while other guests had their stays thoroughly explained to them, including what was available to them, breakfast, etc., and when I checked in I had to ask all of the questions to get these answers. It wasn’t a warm welcome. Then, I got to my room. The paint was chipped on the walls, the furniture needed buffing and cleaning. And the mattress was so uncomfortable. I could feel the springs and felt the effects of it in my back for a week. I was also placed next to a super loud family and across from a staircase - which their children used often. I visited the spa - which was loud (alarms going off, loud guests). I was given a pair of sandals two sizes too small. My massage was not great. I’m not sure how this passed for a luxury spa experience at a 5 star hotel - I didn’t feel the masseuse had proper knowledge of muscle groups and it felt she was going through the motions. I was also super distracted by her nails on my skin, as she had almond acrylics / gel that extended .5-1” past her fingertips. Isn’t that unhygienic? Then I returned to my room to eat my feelings and try to salvage my gift. And even the food was lacking. I am just baffled at how this hotel has 5 stars. I NEVER leave reviews. But my email went unanswered. I don’t want others being grossly overcharged for a mediocre experience, especially in this economy.

Terrible stay! I have stayed here for several years. However, this past visit was very different. First the valet guys were subpar. They brought our luggage in to the hotel and left it and us sitting there. When we finally got up to our room, the room was far down the hall, even though I had specifically asked for it to be close to the elevator. They were out of toothbrushes, things were not working in the room , and there was no soap. All in all, it was NOT the stay we were anticipating for that type of hotel.

The handling of the luggage was non existent. I had to come down and bring up my own luggage up after thirty minutes. The pool water was too cold for enjoyment and the drain cover in the pool was so elevated that my foot was scraped. The worst came just before leaving the room. I tripped over a chair that was so poorly chosen, that it stuck out from the desk several inches even when fully pushed in. I fell violently and struck my forehead in a fall to the floor that left a contusion with laceration above my left eye. Now that I am home I have realized my left elbow was strained in my attempt to break the fall. And, my right hip was injured as well. Just a terrible experience in a hotel I used to trust for a 5 star stay.

Our stay was good. The bellman was excellent with his service. The front desk staff was great. Room service was great. The only downside is the restaurant which is poorly organized, over-crowded and staff don't pay attention to customers, I had to leave for significant wait time on our order, no one even apologized for the long wait time and had to ask the lady in the front for water and juice, no one checked on us in the meantime. It doesn't reflects as a restaurant in a 5 star hotel but rather looks like a poorly organized diner. Am giving them a 5 star due to the service of other staff apart from the restaurant and the great location and valet parking. The restaurant needs to up their game.

The trip started off great with an early check-in for both of my reservations. However, when I saw the rooms, I realize that the hotel saved time by not cleaning them. There were stains in the sink and on the floor. I could tell the room was not cleaned but restocked. The breakfast was fine but our server was not very friendly and seemed impatient when we were placing our orders. The hostess was very nice, friendly, and conversational. The pancakes were good but not hot when I received them and a bit tough. The grits were not seasoned. When I checked out, and was confused about the payment process, the woman checking me out was impatient and a bit short with me. She said I would recieved an reciept for my entire stay but I did not. I did, however, see that for one of my reservations, I was charged an amenity fee of some sort. Overall, for the price I paid for both rooms, even at a discount, was not worth it. I would not stay at this hotel. It gives the illusion of luxury through its price tag.
