This is an unbeleivable property. The location is beyond compare and the proximity to the village of Dominical (within walking distance) offered a good variety of restaurants and shops.The attention to detail by our hosts Robert and Whitney was exceptional-whether you need water toys, binoculars or a cork screw you didn't need to ask-everything is provided. The availability of our host Robert was awsome-his recommendations on local amenities was invaluable.We couldn't ask for a better host.Can't wait to return.

What a magical place! The beach is just steps away, the host is so kind and accommodating and the amenities are ample. Rooms are cool, beds are comfortable and the screened in porch is perfect for enjoying the surrounding beach jungle sounds in comfort! Robert was available to provide directions, suggestions and make sure all was in order. We loved walking to dinner! The outdoor showers were great! Location is central for exploring, thank you such much for a memorable family Costa Rica vacation! So peaceful!

Perfect for our anniversary trip!

Robert and Whit were incredibly kind hosts and offered great suggestions to make our stay most enjoyable. The restaurants they recommended did not disappoint! We really loved walking to town for meals via the beach when tide was low - a nostalgic feeling we’ll never forget. There are too many highlights to list, but the wildlife and scenery top our memories. However, the very best part of our stay is the most incredible beach, right out the back door (we learned this is quite uncommon for the area)! It’s stunning and we saw only a few people each day - it felt like our own private beach in paradise!

Location location location

When you see “house on the beach” on a listing, it generally means you can see the beach and have to walk there etc. this house is ON the beach. There is sand around the house! The beach is heavenly, very few people on the beach, total natural beauty, very clean beach and a very warm ocean! Lots of waves though so hard to swim. Robert, our host, was the KINDEST. He helped us with everything we needed! The amazing thing is that you feel like you are hundreds of miles from civilization when in fact, the driveway gets you on the main highway! 10 min drive from the grocery store! Mind blowing! Noteworthy: the house is a split house between the rental and the owners’. It’s not really an issue but we weren’t expecting it
you can hear the occasional barking of their dog right behind the door of the bedroom. Also the second bed is in the main area, in the kitchen. So no privacy here if you travel as two couples! For us, it was perfect. We will be back!

Pura Vida in Paradise

This property is simply amazing. It doesn’t get any closer to paradise than walking a few steps to your own private beach then falling asleep to the crashing waves each night. Robert was a truly exceptional host, always responsive and helpful in every way. We can’t wait to plan our next trip to Costa Rica!

This property is in a stunning location! Robert, the owner, lives in the adjoining house and is incredibly helpful, kind and generous in giving you privacy and assistance where required. The location causes some challenges to the house with rust/salt water/dampness but it was also the time of year, and not avoidable by the host. I would say it’s greatly suited for a couple looking to enjoy an absolutely gorgeous view and location. It’s close to many other amenities and is fully equipped with anything you may need. Add this place to your list if visiting Dominical!

We were looking for a quiet beachside getaway and this place delivered! There are no neighbors within view and we saw maybe 10 people on the beach over three days. When the tide is low you can walk the beach to Dominical for groceries or to dine out. We mainly cooked and made good use of the gas grill. The kitchen, bath, and outdoor patio were well stocked. I didn’t realize one of the beds is in the main kitchen area, but we didn’t mind the set up. There were plenty of beach amenities provided and the soaking tub is quite nice to sit in. We did a load of laundry before we hit the road which really helped us keep our bags light. The host lives in adjoining home, but you’d hardly know it and he was very helpful before, during, and after our stay.

Amazing Stay

Steps from the beach, we fell asleep to the waves crashing and woke to them as well. The kids couldn’t get enough of the warm water and surf. The beach was beautiful as well with large rocks and cliffs due south, and Dominical beach proper was just north. The accommodations were as expected. 2 queen beds and very comfy. AC worked great. Only downside is exiting the driveway is pretty blind so you really need to be ready for passing traffic. But the house and stay were great. Landlord was super nice as well. We would use again!

Can’t wait to come back!

Had a great time at the Bali Hai house! The pictures really don’t do it justice. If you’re looking for a 5 star hotel, this won’t be your best option. If you want a raw, true Costa Rica beach experience, this is it. Directly on the beach, no other properties around, minimal people, restaurants are fantastic, the scenery is gorgeous. AC worked great, house was stocked with whatever you need, loved the covered screened in porch. Was still able to enjoy being outside if it rained. Robert was a great host!!! Really great detail in the welcome book. Definitely try out his recommendations. We went to the Pavon waterfall and had the Monkeys visit during dinner at La Parcela. Other favorite restaurants were Fuego Brewery, the sushi place, and Cafe Mono Congo. Dominical is a hidden gem and you will not find many properties with this set up in Costa Rica. If you have the opportunity to book, DO IT. Can’t wait to come back!

Paradise on the Beach!

This property has an amazing location on a private beach with little traffic. The host is great and can recommend different things to do in the area. Good location between Dominical and Uvita.

Simply Amazing

Clean, well set up, A+ location! Family of 5 with kids age 7/10/13 all loved this place. Also think the host Rob is extraordinarily nice/helpful. I mean, there are good hosts, then there is Rob at next level! Now that we have been to Playa Dominical area and know where things are and how the beaches are like, I would not stay anywhere else if visiting again. Simply put, if this place is available definitely grab it ASAP. Consider yourself super lucky.

Love the beach? Stay here!

Great location in an ideal spot for surfing, boogy boarding and long walks on a very flat beach at low tide. Robert is very responsive and helpful. We really appreciated not having to deal with the wet towels, sheets and garbage on our last day. I’ve stayed at some places that required us to basically do most of the cleanup before leaving and still pay a hefty cleaning fee. Staying here was a wonderful Christmas holiday.

Breath taking views

Our stay was outstanding, couldn't get a better location with the ocean in your backyard. The host, Robert was super friendly and helpful, responded instantly to any questions or issues we had. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the busyness of life. The people in the area were also so friendly and everyone took the time to talk to you and shared useful information and history about Dominicalito.

Can’t wait to return!

Coming from an East Coaster who’s never seen the Pacific Ocean before, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This property is located on a semi-private beach. We saw maybe 3-4 people at most each day. Our visit was purely for the experience, and our hosts had great tips on how to find hidden gems in the area, away from tourists. We were close to a hidden away waterfall. If it weren’t for our host telling us about it, we would have never known it was there. They told us to take some bananas to a place nearby and that monkeys would frequent at 5pm each day. The monkeys came and I fed them. We went to a rainforest not far from this town and hiked, we walked over hanging bridges, saw beautiful waterfalls, and soaked in a waterhole by the falls at the end. We were the only ones there. This property is so close to a little town called Dominical where we fine dined a couple nights and did local places the rest of the time. Ate amazing fruit and drank from coconuts. I honestly don’t think our trip would have been as enjoyable as it was had it not been for this property and it’s amazing location, and our hosts.
