The Neighborhood:
Avondale is one of Birminghamâs most vibrant neighborhoods. Anchored by Avondale Park, the neighborhood has a wonderful mix of charming homes, green spaces, and popular restaurants, shops, and breweries. Itâs one of our favorite places to hang out in town! And, the neighborhood is also super convenient â just a few miles from the center of downtown, UAB, the BJCC, Protective Stadium, and the airport.
Getting Around:
It is easy to walk from the house to Avondale and the neighborhoodâs many entertainment, dining, and shopping establishments. It is also easy to drive, bike, or rideshare to downtown from the house.
Interaction with Guests:
We are not on-site and do our best to respect guest privacy and enjoyment of the space, but if you need us, we are available by messenger or phone.
Lovely home to stay in with our daughterâs family and our dogs. We were visiting family for Christmas. The location is very convenient, the house was cozy and comfortable. This home had everything we needed and then some. Our host, Emma responded quickly to any questions we had.Book this home for your stay in Birmingham, you wonât be disappointed.
The place is clean and was fine for a 24 hr stay. Just some notes for others considering a future visit. - I did not mention it to the host and they would probably have addressed (very responsive), but there was a very distinct smell of marijuana, especially in the primary bedroom. Only stayed 1 night and we became nose blind to it, but it should be addressed for the comfort of others going forward. - WiFi (not ownerâs fault) caused issue with entry code and more importantly could not watch tv due to inability to connect to the WIFI. - Small issue and I could have probably resolved if staying longer, but none of the remotes worked with the ceiling fans which meant we could not use fans when sleeping because we could not turn off the light without turning off the fan. - The 3rd bedroom states 2 beds - No picture in the listing, but be advised that it is a day bed with a trundle. Technically it is 2 beds (I guess), but is not attached; therefore itâs basically a mattress on the floor on wheels. - Deckâs picture does not match. Older furniture and no sun umbrella for shade. Door on deck that leads to stairs is also warped; therefore does not close. Deck is average.Nothing major and I still give it 4/5 stars, but above may matter to some and hopefully easy remedies. Conclude with positives. Very clean, conveniently located close to uptown and the amphitheater, plenty of room for our 5 guests, towels and linens were cleans and all beds were comfortable!
Our overall experience was wonderful. The property is a listed. Great neighborhood close to local restaurants. We were there for a quick weekend with family although we were not at the property much. The only downside was some dirty sheets on one of the trundle beds which was a quick fix. I notified the property manager. We will be back!
A beautiful house in a lovely neighborhood. I loved the decor and all of the extra touches such as, snacks, soaps & lotions, and the French press coffee. We came to this area to go to a concert at the Avondale Brewery and it was a short walk to the venue from the house. A great location for walking around town. We will definitely return!
Darling, well appointed house in a vibrant location
This was an ideal place for a three-day stay with our dogs. The house is darling and well appointed, the neighborhood vibrant and walkable. Emma was a most attentive and solicitous host. We will definitely stay here again!
Property is well cared for and clean. Property manager checked on us during our stay and was very responsive to solving an issue with television. Easy check-in and check-out procedure. Would stay again.
Perfect property for coming back to Birmingham to see family and friends. Great location near Avondale Park with many restaurants within a couple blocks.
The house is totally updated with a large fenced back yard for our young dog. The property was clean and fresh on arrival, bed was comfortable and property manager checked with us during the stay to ensure all was well.
We loved this spot!
Really cute house very close to our venue and lots of activity
This house was a really great choice for our weekend activities. It was so close to where we needed to be and we enjoyed so much about the house. It was laid out well and was very clean - just as described. We only had a couple of questions that the owner was able to answer for us and offered to take care of. More instruction about how to use the shower in the main bathroom might be helpful for future guests, but we were finally able to figure that out. The Keurig was broken but again, the owner was happy to try to help us out. We also left our wallet there after our stay, and she was able to find that and mail it back to us, which was so kind! I would have preferred to have had a phone number for the owner instead of having to email and wait for a reply but the owner was able to respond and help us out.
We loved all of the areas to lounge. We loved access to multiple TVs. We enjoyed trying the coffees and teas, but would have preferred a regular coffee pot - personal preference- lol. Also, parking was easy, and it was fantastic to have a washer and dryer on site. That came in very handy.
