We were quite comfortable and the staff were all great! The clientele was a mix of foreigners, tourists, college parents and a few people “down on their luck” for want of a non judgmental term. We found it useful to be reminded that we are fortunate to be able to chose our accommodations Wakefield has a lovely town center with some excellent dining! Sabatino’s, Public Kitchen and Asparagus to name a couple we enjoyed!

Need some serious upgrade, carpet has a smell, door knob seem broken and no internal second lock option, if needed Ice has to go downstairs with ice bucket to ask the desk person for ice, no welcome water, phone in room not working, tv need to be upgrade, room has broken or whole on bathroom door, shower not comfortable and broken, staff/service is below average.

Inn on The Lake

The hotel is apparently undergoing refurbishment works, though in the 3 nights we stayed there was little evidence of works. Our room (240) was in need of a new carpet, repairs the bathroom sliding door, wall fixed hair dryer not properly fitted, tv remote that changed channel but didn't turn on/off or perform any other function. No wardrobe or rail, just two hooks by the door. Dodgy electrics tripped the fuses on all the lakeside rooms on 3 occasions on Sunday evening. No elevator so getting bags to level 2 (with no assistance offered) was a struggle. The offered complimentary breakfast left much to be desired. Plastic cutlery and polystyrene plates ran out, as did maple syrup for french toast (with none left in the kitchen), dubious watered down orange best left alone. There was no one from the hotel on duty in the cafe/breakfast area so it was grubby and no assistance was available. Overall we felt sorry for the few staff who were around. Don't like not to have anything positive to say, but we can't think of anything at the moment other than it was convenient for Wakefield commuter rail into Boston.

Very disappointed

Door handle on door was falling off and we were unable to open the door. Gentleman at front desk told us to just give the door a little kick. TV loses signal several times a minute. Walking the grounds and around the pool they are covered in geese droppings. Cigarette butts on ground everywhere out front and garbage overflowing. Our room key was deactivated after our first night of a 3 night stay. When I went to get coffee at 6:30 am I was told No complimentary coffee before 7 am. I responded with that is pretty late and she replied with want some of mine. No do not disturb sign for door had to ask front desk for one and when we returned someone took it off the door. I asked for another one and they told me they didn’t have any. On Friday and Saturday the bar was having live music and patrons of the bar were all over main lobby and sitting on the stairs. Apparently they painted the tub/shower and the paint was chipping off everywhere. We travel a lot and I have never left a bad review, but this experience was very disappointing. The pictures do not match the reality of the condition of the inn. Very unprofessional staff. Inside and outside are very unclean. The inn needs a complete renovation.

Quaint and comfortable inn

Nice inn with a great view of the lake. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered was good and I can’t say enough about the muffins! Rooms were basic but comfortable. Would definitely stay there again. Location was easy to get anywhere in the Boston area. Definitely recommend!

The hotel has live bands on Friday and Saturday. It would be awful if your room was over the bar area. Our room was at opposite end so it wasn’t too bad. Breakfast wasn’t really breakfast.

We did not get breakfast for the first two days due to lack of staff. Management was lazy. Staff was unhelpful. Pool was dirty and isolated away from the hotel. Restaurant seemed to never be open. Room smelled gross!!! Find somewhere else to stay. Two thumbs down!!!
