The Hill Cottage
When traveling west on Crescent Beach, 700 Crescent Beach is at the end off the street. DO NOT USE THE ESPERANZA ROUTE TO GET TO OUR PLACE TAKE THE TOWNSNED RD ROUTE. Turn into the long driveway that brings you up our private little place sheltered with large trees. Children have referred to our place as a tree house. The original building was built 1910. The living room is surrounded with the original large windows that swing open. You can sit in the living room in privacy listening to many different birds or go down to the beach and onto platform dock where you can sit and look at the beautiful view down the lake. Our beach is shallow water, perfect for children, even toddlers. There is a newer kitchen that is spacious and convenient. There are stairs down to a deck and then stairs down to the beach. We also have a tram that brings you down to the beach. The beach has a fire pit for an evening fire. There is also a walk you can take to the Keuka Lake State Park, walking on the private road behind our cottage to Esperanza Rd and into the park. We offer three sit on Kayaks along with life jackets. Paddle to the end of Crescent Beach to marshy lands where you may see a Heron take flight. Here you will also find the entrance to Sugar Creek, paddle up the creek and find turtles basking in the sun or catch a peek at a beaver's dam. Our place offers a unique experience for those who want an escape to nature without ties to the modern world.
We had such a wonderful long weekend staying at this historic cottage tucked up in the trees. We loved the deck, dock (with umbrellas!), and beach area, and our dog loved swimming and exploring. Access to the state park is great. The house stayed cool, the bed is comfortable, and the location is perfect. We will be back
The cottage was in a good location to get to things around Keuka and Seneca lakes. Having access to the water was a great plus. The host gave very good directions for how to find the driveway to the cottage and the best road to take to get to it as it was a bit hidden and Google maps always directed to go on a different road. We also enjoyed the lack of TV/electronics as it was a good way to enjoy the scenery and unplug for the weekend. We did have to bring our own linens and towels which would have been nice to know when booking but otherwise not a big issue. Overall a great place and lovely weekend.
They had everything you could think of and the place was clean. So peaceful and a great place to catch up with friends. The tram down to the beach was a life saver. Hope to return!
Enjoyed a pleasant few day getaway. Although the tram is a nice addition, the steps down to the water were far less than we've experienced at other places on the lake. So we didn't use the tram much, but I can see that under slippery conditions the tram would be a safer option. All in all we had a comfortable stay and the property we found to be very much as described. Thank you!
My wife and I met up w/ friends from out of state that we hadn't seen in a while, and this was the perfect place to have a relaxing weekend together. The house being up in the trees gave it a really quiet vibe, and being able to get down to the dock to swim was easy. Teresa and Joan were responsive and helpful hosts, and we look forward to going back!
