Good Basic Motel

Good basic older updated motel, clean room, comfortable, microwave and refrigerator. Very busy night of stay so parking was tight but available, just not in front of room. Overall, good quality for the price. No breakfast, but that is typical for most Salida motels.

Strong cleaner smell

Decent place. My only real complaint is the strong fabuloso (or similar scented cleaner) in the room. Overpowering odors like this are never associated with true cleanliness, but covering something up.

the room was really small the bed was a full sized bed not a queen as advertised liked the ground level access no stairs room was clean I would recommend liked the price point.

You get what you pay for. Quality lodging is pretty expensive on the weekends in this mountain town. Unfortunately I have to come here 1-2 times a year for a state volunteer meeting of an organization I belong to. It’s atypical old, highway fronted motel with stained sinks & bathtubs (jetted). The towels were stained & thin. One bright spot was the floors were new. Carpet in one room & vinyl tile in the other. The AC worked pretty well & the indoor pool was very warm, but stained & old. Our key cards didn’t work each morning so we had to constantly have them reprogrammed.

I am a senior lady traveling alone and felt very safe. The area was well lighted at night. The room (king) was quaint and more than satisfactory. The best part was the bed (and even the pillows). Not sure the brand ( I tried to find out :>). I slept so well - I have back issues and this was the best I've slept in months. I walked into downtown (Salida) every morning... 1.7 miles (downhill :>) I would definitely stay here again. It is right on Rainbow (the hwy) but it is a 'motor hotel' - Wonderful Mexican Restaurant right across the street, and the other way was fabulous Brewery/Pub.
