The Cabin on the Coulee is a lovely two story rustic log cabin on a complete section of land (640 acres - 250 ha) that overlooks a 200 acre Alberta coulee, making for an amazing view! It rents as a complete unit that sleeps up to 6 adults with a full bath on the main floor and a half bath upstairs. The cabin has a full sized refrigerator, range, a full kitchen (including dishes, cutlery and cookware), a propane gas BBQ, a wood stove, outdoor fire pits, high speed WiFi and a projector for movies.
The Space:
Get away from it all - an amazing glamping experience. The Cabin on the Coulee was awarded the #1 position in the Farm Stay category in Canada, according to the Trip 101 website. It is near the middle of a whole section (640 acres) of Alberta farm/coulee land. It has all of the modern amenities you could want yet you can step out the door or off the deck to go hiking or mountain biking in the coulees or enjoy a camp fire in one of two fire pits.
Guest Access:
Guests have full use and access to the whole cabin and glampsite that is enclosed by a rail fence to keep the cattle out if they are grazing in the area. Guests also have access to the coulees and trails for hiking or mountain biking and the rest of the more flat land on the section of land (640 acres) for hiking and biking.
The site also has two 35 amp RV plug ins for more guests. Contact me on the app for more details.
The Neighborhood:
The cabin is only two miles away (by gravel road) from Huber Dam, a local campground and fishing area. Bird watching, star gazing, collecting rocks and wild flowers, or watching movies are some of the many things to do at the cabin.
Getting Around:
Though the cabin is about 2 km off of Highway 12, you need to be comfortable driving on gravel road and then a dirt road/cow path to get to the cabin. You can make it with a car but an SUV or a truck is better, especially in rainy weather.
Other Things to Note:
Our main goal is to provide unforgettable glamping experiences for our guests. We wanted to create glampsites that offer peace and quiet, and an escape into nature suitable for families of all shapes and sizes.
These glampsites are perfect for stargazing, watching the sunrise/sunset, hiking with your dog, and watching the northern lights!
Glamping is a blend of the words glamorous and camping. Glamping is a style of camping where guests are treated to some unexpected amenities, like a comfortable bed, on or off grid electricity, running/heated water, indoor plumbing, or high speed internet.
We call our short term holiday accommodations glampsites and we aspire to be the home of the "Low Density Glamping Guarantee". This means that all of our glampsites are guaranteed to be very private, where your view of other glampsites is obscured by trees or is a minimum of 400 m (0.4 km or Πof a mile) away.
