Lovely place in Oak Park

I stayed here with a friend for 7 days in May 2025. It is on the main floor and is accessed from the front porch, which does have some stairs to reach. The place is immaculate. The decorations are attractive and the furniture is comfortable. There are fans in each living area and the windows open for ventilation. The host lives on site and is very accessible and friendly. Loved the quiet and restful space and surrounding neighborhood.

Short get-away

My husband and I stayed in Kathy's home for a quick get-away. Her home is beautiful as well as the neighborhood. Quick walk to the L to go into Chicago. Kathy was a gracious host and we would definitely stay there again!

Lovely spot conveniently located

Very comfortable and nice sized apartment close to downtown Oak Park. Restaurants, stores and public transportation within a short walking distance. Surrounding neighborhood is nice. I would highly recommend this unit, and when returning to Oak Park, this unit will be my first choice.

We had the most wonderful stay. Kathy was an amazing host, extremely helpful and very friendly, I will miss her. The apartment was perfect, lots of lovely space and with all we needed and more. Lots of light and fresh air. The teenagers could find their own space. We loved sitting out front on the porch, watching the birds and greeting the neighbours who were very friendly. I will miss Floyd in particular. I hope we get to come again. Oak Park is lovely to walk around and explore. Frank Lloyd Wright architecture is stunning. Chicago was great, what a lovely city. Thank you for hosting us Kathy.

Great neighborhood, perfect location

Just blocks from my husband’s childhood home; lots of good old memories! Quiet neighborhood, quiet upstairs guests. Close to downtown Oak Park, shopping, restaurants, parks. Apartment is very charming and cozy; kitchen stocked with needed dishes, basic pantry supplies. Kathy, the host, was friendly and available through texts, but was not a bother. We would stay there again!

Absolutely wonderful!

Loved location as it kept me close to everything I needed while in town for high school annual picnic. Kitchen was fantastic as I was able to do some baking and cooking for family and friends,sine this is my home town. Kathy is an EXCELLENT host and I plan on using her lodging again in the future.

lovely old townhouse with big dining und kitchen area. Great for gatherings with friends and family. Close to Oakpark Downtown with many restaurants and small independ shops. Close to Metro. Just about 25 minutes to Chicago downtown. Very friendly and helpfull landlady lives in the same building.

Gorgeous Home; Perfect Neighborhood

We stayed a week at Ms. Kathy’s home. We knew nothing about Illinois, except we wanted to be kind of between our daughter who we were visiting in Channahon, and Chicago. Oak Park is wonderful! I could literally spend all day just walking the historic neighborhood. You can walk to downtown Oak Park, which is a great place for meals, treats, book store, historic movie theatre & a host of other places. If you want, the walk to the “L” train is doable. The actual home is beautiful! There are 2 fairly large bedrooms & both beds are incredibly comfortable. The main bed is adjustable & it vibrates! (Insert cheeky comment here). Also, the large couch folds out - the mattress is inflatable & is very comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful - plenty of hot water & towels. Kitchen is stocked; large oven & gas stove top. We’re from Alabama, so we only know how to survive with central air. This home does not have that, but each room has an air unit & there’s a large unit in living room. And we were very comfortable. Ms. Kathy, the owner, is great. She lives in the basement - you’ll be on the main floor. I texted her with several questions throughout the week & she’s quick & friendly in response. She was very kind, recommending lots of things we can do, both in Chicago & in Oak Park. This place is 5 stars, and I can’t wait to come back in the winter to play in the snow!

Peaceful Haven

My five year old, husband and myself stayed at this beautifully preserved place and absolutely loved it. It was comfortable with modern amenities while also preserving the historic parts. Kathy was very attentive and communicative when needed. Perfect Oak Park Stay

This is a lovely apartment with hardwood floors throughout, lots of antiques and unique touches that make it a relaxing retreat. The location is convenient to downtown Oak Park and the trains (Green Line and Metra). The owner is very responsive and you can tell she takes a lot of love and care in maintaining and keeping it clean. There is some noise from the people living in the apartment above, but it is not bothersome and only happens during awake hours. It’s typical for an old hardwood floor apartment building. We had a very relaxing and restful stay. The beds are great too! I really loved the chandelier in the bathroom! The adjustable lighting everywhere really helps for a cozy atmosphere. This is one of the best VRBO’s that I’ve stayed at!

Very comfortable and great location

We enjoyed our brief stay in this lovely unit. The bedrooms were great and our daughter particularly liked the bright front bedroom. The location is ideal for historic central Oak Park - just a 10-minute walk to downtown and trains to Chicago. We’d be glad to stay again.
