This property was ideal for our stay in Chicago. Cannot say enough good things about the location- it was perfect. Easy access to Wrigley and the Redline. Only problem we had was loud tenants in adjoining unit into the wee hours of the morning. BUT despite that still highly highly recommend!
This apartment was perfectly located for the concert we attended at Wrigley Field. We could pop back in to cool off when ever we wanted. We could hear sound check from our place which was cool. Lots of restaurants to walk to. Easy to find. The off street parking was a necessity and I'm glad we paid extra for it. All though communication started off slow in the planning and booking process, when we needed help getting the code to work, Justin was quick to respond to get us in. Once we figured out the correct way to enter the code we never had a problem. The apartment was clean and comfortable but it could use some structural TLC. There is moisture damage in the bathroom. Bubbling paint and sheet rock issues. One of the kitchen cupboards under the sink was falling off the hinges. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but it was fine for the 3 nights we were there. With that being said, I would still stay there in a heart beat because the location to Wrigley Field was unbeatable and the apartment was clean and comfortable. Thank you!
The location of this place is fantastic. The pullout couch was broken and unable to be fixed while we were there. This made the stay very uncomfortable for us. The other bed is also very hard and uncomfortable. The kitchen cabinet was broken and wallpaper peeling revealing damage in the bathroom. The location is so great, but this property needs a little love and TLC.
Awesome location with a quiet and well maintain neighborhood. Now it is not far from the stadium and my stay was during away games so I do not know how the neighborhood would be during the season with home games. You can tell that this property is not well maintained; staines with smells on the couch cushions, blankets, comforters, etc. The host takes a long time to respond to calls about any issues that i have experienced; even his maintenance guy made the same statement about how the host handles communication. The host discriminate against people with service animals and will try to charge you a pet fee for your service animal, this is illegal! He has been warned numerous of times by VRBO and he continues to push the fee by lying about things. If you stay here take before your stay pictures and after your stay pictures as proof. Thank goodness I did. It has been 2 weeks since my stay and I've had 4 separate conversations with VRBO about the host and the service animal policy. He is a bullying money grabber who lacks communication.
Solid, affordable garden apartment. Great shower water, great sheets. (thatâs what âs important to me)Optional parking is a little pricey, but others simply add that to their base cost, soâŠProximity to a variety of public transport is a huge plus (Ventra 3-day pass is only 15!)
Great location and easy check in process. Mattress was really hard and uncomfortable, and extra comforter provided for couch was dirty and stained. Place definitely needs some TLC. Communication was tough. Upon arrival I messaged owner with a parking question and to let him know the thermostat was not working. It was 66 degrees that night in the unit. I never got a reply and messaged again the next afternoon. He then replied and it was fixed. I think a 24 hour response is unacceptable when renting a property.
Basement unit just a few minutes walk from Wrigley Field and the Red Line. Perfect for catching a game or heading to the loop for evening. Check in info was accurate and host response was timely. The unit could use a little TLC. Broken cabinet door, missing doorknob on a utility room door, no railing on the steps but overall a comfortable stay.If you are over 6' like me be cautious as there are areas where the ceiling isn't.
It is terrible, since at the time of hiring it mentions that there is parking service but does not mention that it is an additional cost, first the host mentions that the cost is 40 and then that there are cheaper tickets, the truth is that what they publish is not true, what you really end up paying for.
This unit is very close to Wrigley which is what we were looking for & Communication with the owner was great. There were a few minor issues (broken trashcan lid/ cabinet door), mattress a little hard, etc. but it was clean and felt safe. Our only real issue was thinking parking was included but it is "parking available" at $40 a night. My fault for not reading closely but wasn't expecting that. If your plan is to be out and about most of your visit, definitely recommend.
Place is what was advertised. It was everything i needed. It was 5 mins from family. Parking in yard was great! Host called to check on us!! He was very responsive before arriving and after!! Would stay again.
We have been to Chicago visiting family many times.
The main reason for our visit this time was to see our Philadelphia Phillies vs Cubs at Wrigley Field with friends who have never been there. We didn't need to rent a car because we were within walking distance (.2 miles - 5 minutes!) to the field. (We also took a tour of Wrigley the day before the game which was really awesome!) The Racine house is in a beautiful, quiet, safe and well-maintained area of Chicago. It was fun to walk around and check out the architecture and flower gardens. (Lots of nice bars and restaurants too.) It was also a short walk to catch the "L" and explore downtown Chicago. We went to Millennium Park where we saw the "Cloud Gate" sculpture, Lurie Garden, stunning architecture, and caught a free blues act at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion.
The Racine apartment itself was very clean, cozy and well appointed. The only negative comment I have is that the living room was super cold and the bedroom was warm. There was also an issue with the Wi-Fi which we were not using, nor planning to use. I only gave four stars for the accuracy of the listing because I think it may be a little cramped for four adults in a basement apartment. Definitely plan to come back again!
Ceilings are a little low (Iâm tall) but itâs a basement unit so not unexpected. Canât beat the location for catching a baseball game or a show at Wrigley.
