Welcome to the Ocean Front Cowibbean Cottage

Waking up to the beautiful sights & sounds of the ocean, the birds chirping, the seal lions barking will instantly put you in vacation mode.
A fully stocked kitchen will allow you to create meals to be enjoyed on the beautiful deck on stilts over the Pacific Ocean. Don’t want to cook? That’s okay too! The community of Cowichan bay with its famous restaurants, pub, ice cream store & an abundance of local shops are all within walking distance. The property has 3 security cameras, one mounted on the front of the house facing the dock, one mounted on the guesthouse facing the front door of the cottage and the final one mounted on a piling looking back at the house to watch the tidal changes. This last camera can be disabled during your stay. These cameras are for secure purposes only and do not impede the privacy of your stay.

It is a lovely place, and our second time staying. Very comfortable, clean and a wonderful spot. The one downside is sharing the dock with the other guests. They have to walk directly past the bedroom windows, so we had to close the curtains, which is a shame because we are there for the view. As well, this time, the other guests spent a lot of time going to and from the dock (fishing, and a crab cage) so we did not get to enjoy sitting on the dock as much as we would have liked.

Love This Gorgeous Property

This is our second year staying at this property. We absolutely LOVE it. It's extremely convenient to walk through Cow Bay and it's very Close to the South Cowichan Lawn Tennis Club. We spend as much time as possible sitting on the deck and watching the water and wildlife. Danielle is a delight, too! She's extremely responsive.

We have 2 couples stayed 2 nights in this beautiful cottage. We all loved it. Everything is new and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped. Location is great! We can see the Amazing bay view from the bedrooms. Taking a nap at the patio with the breathtaking view is absolutely wonderful. It’s so quiet and comfortable to sleep at night. We will definitely come back again.Just one small suggestion to add tissue box on dining table.

Cowichan Bay Paradise

Beautiful ocean front property with large deck and dock (you could dock a fairly large boat) overlooking Cowichan Bay. Everything you would need for preparing most meals, including a BBQ. We had beautiful weather but it would be very comfortable and cosy in the rain. Would definitely book again.

An Absolutely Perfect Property

We've been coming up to the Mill Bay/Cow Bay/Duncan area for almost 20 years. Over those years we've outlasted two B&Bs (they retired) and stayed at various rental properties. We FINALLY found the perfect place for our future stays. The location of the cottage cannot be beat. It's right in Cow Bay. The cottage itself is amazing. It's very well appointed, extremely clean, and just plain CUTE. You'll find everything you need there. The views off the deck are simply beyond. I found myself not wanting to go anywhere - I just wanted to sit on that deck and look at the Bay and take pictures. As we were staying there, I was already planning to reserve the cottage again for next year and we even decided to add an additional day to our annual Vancouver Island stay! We reached out to Danielle, the host, twice. She was extremely quick with communication back to us and so very helpful - kindest host we've ever had!

Beyond expectations! Will be back


We are long time girlfriends who were looking for a central spot to meet and catch up over a weekend. We settled on Cowichan Bay and were extremely happy with the location, and the cute accommodations were perfect. Walkable to parks, restaurants, bakery, shops and an easy drive to wineries, more restaurants and shopping and various artisans and farm stands. We were super happy with the cottage setup and all the attention to details that gave us many choices if we stayed in (games, well stocked kitchen, cozy fireplace and throws and more). It has stunning views and was super clean and thoughtfully planned and decorated. We will be back!

Incredible view

This property is absolutely beautiful! The layout is excellent with two good size bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, indoor AND outdoor dining spaces as well as a cozy living room. A large deck with attached dock provide fantastic outdoor lounging space. Views are amazing from almost every room. Location is prime! Delicious bakery and local restaurants, water activities and lovely little shops featuring local artists. I stayed with my partner and my 13yr old daughter who absolutely loved it. Larger town (Duncan) with additional amenities less than 10 min away. Would absolutely stay again!!!

Outstanding place but privacy is an issue

When my wife and I walked through the door I think both of our jaws dropped. This place and location is one of the best we have stayed at. Right on the water front and sitting out on the dock watching the tide and all the activities was a highlight. Two bedrooms and two full baths is not typical to find. The only issue with the "guest" bathroom is the door looks great but only encloses half of the tub so showering can create a mess of water outside of the tub. The issue we have is one of privacy. We stayed for 5 nights. There is a small bachelor also for Vbro rent on the same property. That property can share the dock. Sharing the dock is no issue at all, but, to get to the dock the other guests have to walk across your deck which is at eye level the master bedroom, living room and guest bedroom. Not a comfortable situation at all for us. Both the bedrooms do have curtains while the living room has no window coverings. Often we would have the curtains open and windows open for that nice sea breeze. But at any time, the guests next door can walk at eye level and see in. I think it is good that future guests know that it is not just sharing the dock and know the full extent of how this property is setup with less privacy than other "like" places in the area. This is not what we signed up for. We would 100% return otherwise but will not with the sharing situation which is not at all documented yet on Vbro other than guest comments. I hope this helps someone else.
