Upon arrival (which went exactly as planned), we were pleasantly surprised with a nice gift basket of snacks and a fine bottle of wine. The house was immaculate, and was exactly as advertised. The downstairs recreation room was a hit as we played many games of pool, and of course, shuffleboard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this house to anyone. Thanks for the lovely time we had at your beautiful place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lake house with a game room. The house was very spacious, beautifully designed and exceptionally clean. Roseann provided countless extras from welcoming wine and snacks to a generous supply of basic cooking ingredients. The large kitchen was open and well designed with a great round table. There was a lot of extra room throughout the house. All of the bedrooms had excellent linens and comfortable bedding. The bathrooms were spacious and well designed as well. We loved the game room on the lower level with the pool table, a bowling pin shuffleboard table game, a movie size tv screen with music selections for dancing, a popcorn maker and more. The private lake was a 2 min drive with a pool and a beach. It was not crowded and very scenic. The lake community provided a great backdrop for extra activities. Roseann was exceptionally responsive and helpful during our stay. We highly recommend the house to travelers who want to explore the nearby towns of Catskill, Hudson and the scenic Hudson River, while also getting to swim and boat on the nearby lake.

Hosting family for an out of town wedding

When we realized there was no talking the kids out of planning their wedding closer to either family’s home in Connecticut we needed to find a place that would feel like home. A place roomy enough where family could gather, have meals together, laugh and play games. This home offered all that. The foliage during our stay was a bonus.

Second visit as great as the first!

We stayed at this property in 2023 and had such a wonderful time that we booked it again for 2024. The kids had an awesome time in the basement with all the games and spent hours swimming in the lake. Everything is clean and organized and beautiful. Rosane is an amazing host. She even helped coordinate a pick up of items we left behind and was super communicative and helpful.

Clean and comfortable

This was a great rental for a long weekend. The house was very clean and well stocked. We appreciated all of the thoughtful touches that the homeowner added to make us feel welcomed such as the bottle of wine, snacks and personalized note. This is definitely one of the best stocked short term rentals we’ve ever stayed in as they supplied everything needed for a comfortable stay. I can definitely see why this property has such stellar reviews. The one critical comment I’ll add is that it wasn’t easy to figure out the layout of the home from the photos so we thought the house was a little roomier and spread out until we actually got there. Overall, that didn’t affect our enjoyment and we had a good stay in the house.

Second Christmas

We had a perfect stay. The house was set up well. There was plenty of beds for our family. The kitchen was well equip for all meals. No need to eat out. The game room in the basement is a lot of fun. Plenty to do from playing pool to shuffle board. Plenty of space. Great place to be with family and enjoy each other. Would highly recommend!!

Wonderful home

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The younger generation loved the game room, the snacks and the privacy downstairs. Everything was so well thought out and well stocked. Our host was super responsive and helpful. We will be booking it again!

Great family fun house with plenty of room!

We had a great time spending Christmas with our family at this vacation house. The home is just as it is depicted in the photos and is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and snacks from our generous hosts. The home is nicely decorated, with plenty of room upstairs with a large comfortable living room with a pellet stove and 75 inch SmartTV. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it is well stocked and there are two dining areas. Upstairs, there are three comfortable bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The downstairs playroom includes a pool table, shuffleboard, bar area with movie style popcorn maker, ice maker and three TV’s. The large couch in front of the 75” SmartTV was large enough for everyone. There is another bedroom and full bathroom and laundry on this level. It is chilly downstairs compared to upstairs, so bring sweaters and slippers if spending time down there in the winter. We did not use the patio and firepit, but they were also very nice. There is not much to do in the winter in Athens, but the towns of Catskill and Hudson were interesting to visit. There is also a nice riverfront park just up the road in Coxackie. We reached out to the hosts a couple of times before and during our trip and they were always responsive and helpful. We are very happy we selected this property for our holiday Vacation!

Outstanding host and stay - 100% recommend!

Amazing property rented for family gathering, with 10 guest ranging in age from 4-80. House was clean, well appointed, and had everything we needed, plus nice extras like the smores kit and stocked fire pit. Great location to walk around the lake, game room was BIG hit with both kids and adults. Convenient to local attractions and activities. You won't regret booking this lake house! THANKS to the host and will rebook if back in the area.

Fabulous!

Everything in the house was perfect and exactly as described. Our kids had a blast at the lake all day and then tons of fun back at the house in the basement with games and movies. The host thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.

Clean, spacious house with everything we needed

This house was great! We highly recommend it. The owner was responsive and kind. There was lots of space for our party of 9 which included 4 kids aged 8-12. Fun games in the basement, lots of TVs, nice porch and firepit and good sized kitchen and dining table. It wasn't cluttered with the owners things (my pet peeve) but was tastefully decorated and had some fun games and puzzles. The property has a great swimming pool and lake beach. It felt quiet and safe. The neighbors were friendly. I gave the "Accuracy of online listing" 4 stars because you are not allowed to use outside water craft on the lake and we brought kayaks. Really wished we knew that beforehand! Definitely would consider going back here.

Great New Year's Stay for families with young kids
